City of Dreams, City of Puppets Part 1: The Beginning of the Introduction

This, is the beginning of your journey, PREPARE YOURSELVES!


we start, near the end of academies "class times"...directly before everyone is set to go off to afternoon break, a 3 hour period in which the students can do...whatever the hell theyd like that is within the boundaries of the laws of physics and regular laws.

Argentum, Tragon, Zachary were set to depart from Physics class, run by Dr. Frank Einstein.
Dr Einsteins class, bluntly put, is BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING. most students end up falling asleep in his class...which doesnt matter to him one bit as he sometimes manages to put himself to sleep. A lot of students compare him to a zombie...which may not be far off from some sort of truth...

Jack and Danny were set to depart from English, run by a Mr. Sirius Lee.
Mr Sirius' class is medium pace, but he puts a lot of enthusiasm and energy into each and every lecture he gives. his energy is so contagious its profoundly difficult for his students to sit concentrate, as how erratically he runs around tends to draw the students' attention more than the actual lecture...

Sakura and Armin were set to depart from Math, run by Prof. Eddie Shun
Eddies lectures...usually go very very slow. a very thorough professor who makes sure to go over every little step to every little math equation. his lectures are so thorough homework is virtually nonexistent in his class...

Luke, Roxy, and Ruby are going to be departing from Biology, run by Mr. Boe Ring
Mr Boe Ring is highly, HIGHLY enthusiastic about his job...which is an understatement in itself.
even though biology is supposed to encompass many living things...his classes mainly consist of Plants. he is obsessed  with them. especially roses, which end up as the center of many a biology lecture.

and as a final note to all those leaving their classes, remember:
most students do not want an encounter with Principle Smilen Wave and the three prefects Kowalski, Rico and a boy everyone refers to as "Private" for some reason.
all 4 of them wear similar tuxedo-esque uniforms and are seen prowling the halls...a lot...like they think their some kinda undercover blackops teams... in short, they are all designated as "weirdos" and it has been deemed prudent by many people to not piss off principle Smilen, at all.

"So... Zach. Nice to meet you, but I guess I'm going home now. excusez-moi."

After saying that, Argentum casually started walking to his house.

[Arc V Yuto]

Zachary look's out the window seeing that the rain is getting worse.

"Nice meeting you Argentum see you tomorrow in class" Zach begins his walk home in the rain "Wait a disgusting tone in Argentum's voice but maybe he can be useful at some point to help me out"

Zach arrives home and is greeted by his father "How was your day of school?"

"It was good father thank you for asking, met two people today they seem pretty cool"

"That's nice son it's what your mother would of wanted"

Zach suddenly feels the tears coming over him at the thought of his mother being brought up and exits to his bedroom for the rest of the night.

A man  stood stood up from the comfortable and large chair he was seated in and walked slowly towards the window of his rather large office. He gazed absent minded outside the window. It was a raining heavily. Excellent weather to relax and study indoors the man though to himself.

Thunder struck as lightning flashed from the distance illuminating everything in plain sight if not for a brief moment, including the man staring out of his office window.
He was a pale young man with a serious look on his face dressed rather smartly in a custom tuxedo-esque uniform. Black shoes, black trousers bowties and all. He even had a black compact duel disk strapped to his arm.
Running his hands over his slick wavy black hair, the man then proceeded to fold his arms in thought and to stare out of his window.
This man was known to almost all as Principal Smilen Wave

Then there came a sudden knock on the door.
As the man turned towards the door and before he could utter a word,  the door burst open as three individuals hastily rushed in, crashed into each other and fell at the man's feet.
"Attention!" yelled Principal Smilen Wave
The three individuals quickly gathered themselves, stood at attention and saluted the Principal Smilen Wave. They were strangely dressed in the same uniform as the Principal.
These were the three Prefects of Dreamland who answered only to and directly to the Principal himself. They generally helped to maintain the law and order of the school and to help the Principal with different tasks as well.

"Status report" barked Principal Smilen Wave as he raised an eyebrow at them.
The youngest of the three known to all as Private, handed the Principal a clipboard.
"Well Skipper, we seem to have a rather interesting batch of students this year" said Kowalski the tallest of the bunch.
Rico excitingly bobbed his head excitedly at the Principal.
"Excellent" barked the Principal. "We are expecting some more staff to arrive soon as well..."

"Rico! Kowalski! Private!' he pointed to each. "Initiate plan whisky, alpha, tango, charlie, hotel!"
"Aye aye Skipper!" chanted all three Prefects in unison and dashed out of the Principal's office.

The Principal went back towards the window and stared outside yet again.

[Nosferatu Alucard]

After a little walk, Argentum finally reached his house. It wasn't a mansion, but it was kindly big. Plus the fact that he lived alone, it looked like an abandoned castle for him. Without ceremonies, he entered the house, took a quick shower, combed his hair and got himself into casual clothings.

It was cold due to the rain, so he dressed long white paints combining with a long sleeve shirt. After that, he got a book from his library. a french verson of The Phantom of the Opera, Le Fantôme de l'Opéra. After turn on the lights of his bedroom, a quite spacious one, to be honest, he laid down on his bed and started reading.

After some time reading, he got hungry. As it's supposed to be, he went to the kitchen and finished the preparation of the Blanquette de Veau he was doing before school. After finishing the preparation, he got a red Bordeaux to drink and a Paris-Brest for dessert.

"Oh well, at least that french culinary book was a good thing. This is simply divine. Now, i'll head to my bed. Nights like this are awesome, but i'm already sleepy to take advantage of the moment" With that being said, Argentum went to sleep.

as Zachary is sleeping for the night, a window silently slides open in his house. a dark figure slips in and begins makings it way across the room to, looking for a specific door...the door to Zachary's room. upon finding and opening said door.

the figure enters, and Silently closes the door behind it...

and stares at the zach, holding a shining knife with a silver skull on its hilt.

Danny walks home, his thoughts still on the kitten special he watched the night before. Why were kittens so cute? It just wasn't fair. Why couldn't everything be that cute? Because then no work would get done. Society would collapse. Of course! It was just nature's way of keeping balance in the universe! But still... It'd be nice if everything were that cute.

A growling stomach broke Danny out of his reverie. He had skipped breakfast and he'd slept through lunch. He was starving. He tried thinking of cute things again, but it was no use. Hunger clawed at his stomach like a Harpie Lady clawed at its prey.

Well, he was almost home. He could make himself something when he got there. Or maybe his mother or stepmother would have something ready when he got there. His stepmother was a really good cook. His mother... Well. She tried. He could see his house now. Cozy as always. A few minutes later, he walked through the door.

"I'm home!" he said cheerily.

Zachary suddenly awakes from a nightmare involving his mother. Zach gets the sudden urge that he is not alone is his room he leans up only to see a shadowy. Zachary just stares at the figure wondering what he will do next.

[Rea]

the figure stands there, with the knife...then proceeds to take a step back towards the wall behind it, turned around, and SLOOOOOWLY gauge long line into the wall.

before taking it out of the wall and tossing it directly at zach...before the knife curved ever so slightly to the side, missing his head by an inch and embedding itself in the wall behind him. no amount of strength will be able to remove it.

the figure calmly walks towards the door, opens it and closes it and exits through the window in which it entered.

A perfectly typical dinner later, Danny went upstairs to his room. Sparse in decoration, the only splash of color was the bright red blanket that adorned his otherwise mundane bed.

He had basic furniture: wooden and lifeless. The books on his bookshelf were arranged with surgical precision. A worn navy blue throw rug lay in front of his dresser. One of the dresser drawers was ajar, a button-up shirt hanging out slightly. Danny put the shirt all the way back in and closed the drawer.

He exhaled and threw himself on his bed. He felt too tired to even change into his pajamas. He glanced out the window at the relentless rain. His eyes closed slowly as he drifted out of consciousness, dreaming of kittens, candy, and cute things.

Zach stares in horror at the knife in his wall. "What what..... just happened......" Zach tries to fall back asleep as he has school in the morning but is having a hard time. Zach gets up and walks through his quiet house to get a glass of water and decides to sleep on the couch for the night.

(Sorry for the late post i was out)
Ruby walks out of the classroom and goes to the abandoned building where she always goes when they get their free period but she didn't bring an umbrella with her but she still went to the building. She walked around the building as she normally does but something was odd in the building, she came across a small box in the middle of the room she got close to it the box was open but she only saw the art of the card before a trap door opened then she fell deeper into the building until she reached the basement it was pitch black she really couldn't see anything she reached the wall looking for the light switch she found it and flicked it but the lights wouldn't come on she was scared more then she ever had been in her life.

A loud thundering chuckle echoed all around.
"Alone in the dark... are we now, little girl?"

Sparks of electricty appeared out of thin air and struck the only lightbulb in the room, illuminating the room blindingly for just a fraction of a second and revealing what appeared to be a giant hulking green figure in the room. Ruby was not alone.

The bulb suddenly exploded in a blinding flash of light, showering the whole area with glass.

[Lord Beerus]

"Who are you? and where am i?" Ruby asked the man you can tell she was scared because of the shaking in her voice. She now knows she is not alone and she needs to be careful because of the glass.

Two glowing yellow orbs glared down at Ruby from within the now dark basement. The heavy rain and the now frequent thunderstorms could be heard lightly.

"You dare to ask who I am? Who am I is of no importance!"
The voice of thunder echoed through the darkness.
"More importantly. Who do you think you are? What is it that you seek?
You do not belong here, little girl."

A bolt of lightning cut through the the darkness and struck Ruby right in the chest sending her flying back and sprawling across the cold, hard stone floor.

In Professor Shun’s Math lecture as always being precise and slow in his teachings it was considered to be rather boring. At the edge of the class by the window, a girl with red hair has her mind elsewhere as she stared at the window looking at the skies wondering about something. She usually remains attentive in class but she couldn’t concentrate today as her mind was elsewhere.

“It’s been 6 months, since your gone…..Where are you Zach..”

As she pondered even more a voice dragged her back into reality.

“You’ve got a lot of guts not paying attention in class Sakura”

Looking back at class she finds Professor Shun in front of her looking at her sternly. Sakura slightly jumped up in a panic “S-sorry sensei”. The class around her was having a laugh at her, except for Armin who simply sighed shaking his head.

“Please pay attention Sakura this will come for the upcoming test” With that the class continued on. After what seems to be hours the bell rang and class ended. Sakura packed her things on her own and walked up to Armin who is as always wearing his smart purple attire. Armin looked at Sakura and calmly spoke to her

“What are you going to do now?”

“I don’t have anything in mind today.” She replied in a rather sad tone.

“Let’s go to the 7 Colored joint, There is something i need to talk to you about”.

Sakura smiled at the boy and responded “Sure lets go then”

With that said both of them left the room and headed to the 7 Colored Fish and Chips shop.

[Rea]

as Sakura leaves with Armin and approaches the 7 colored fish and chips, she bumps into and knocks over a student, who was with another student, and both were just exiting the restaurant.

the one she knocked over was Female, and she made her drop her decks, there were many cards on the ground.

She had long, brown hair that almost reached down to her waist, and she also appeared to be around the same age as her companion, 17.
her style of clothing however seemed to be the exact opposite, wearing a bright neon green short sleeve shirt that would severely hurt the eyes of anyone who looks at it for too long, and white pants. with white shoes with some sort of silver emblem inlaid in them.

her companion seemed to be similar to her, yet opposite
Short Brown Hair, looked to be around 17
Dressed in a Dark Green Sweater, and Black pants, and Black shoes with a gold emblem inlaid into their sides.
has green eyes.

"Wow sis, seems neither of us can catch a break today, first that weird clumsy guy who looked really poor...and now this."

"ugh, whatever. just help me clean these cards up...Brother. and you, yes you there"

the girl gestures at sakura

"you gonna help me clean up these cards so we can stop blocking the door or are you just going to stand there?"

"cmon sis, thats rude...they didnt even see us until it was too late..."

the two stopped what they were doing, and immediatly broke into muttered bickering...but didnt get very far when they realized they were still in the presence of sakura and armin.

"erm...can you uh, do us a favor and pretend you didnt just hear any of that...and Please help us clean up these cards, please? it'll be faster with atleast 3 of us doing the work."

[Zaio Volnutt]

As the two of them arrived at their destination, Sakura bumped into a girl as she exited the building dropping her cards on the floor. Sakura shook her head after the knock and closed in on the two bowing her head down at both of them.

“I’m so sorry.”

The two didn’t seem to notice that as they were talking to each other. It was only then that the girl gestured towards Sakura to help her up which made Sakura raise an eyebrow slightly. Armin being observant of the situation simply looked at the two and noticed what the male student said at the end before stopping which made them look suspicious to him.

“Its fine let me help you up” Sakura knelt down and started picking up the scattered cards and gestured Armin to do the same in which Armin followed Sakura’s lead after all it would be much more faster if done this way.

Armin out of curiosity started speaking at the two “I haven’t seen you two around at all, are both of you students of Dreamland Academy?”

[Rea]

as sakura hands back the last of the card she is able to see one of the girl's extra deck cards, only for a quick second, only enough to make out the picture

in response to Armin's questioning the Male student quickly responds

"oh yeah we are. M'names Xavier."

"and they call me Xavi."

"and you've probably guessed it already...but were siblings. Twins technically."

"and the main reason neither of you havent really seen us around the academy...were both a really quiet sort. no one pays us any mind a lot of the time. we kinda blend into the woodwork so to speak..."

"but enough about us, whats your guys' names?"

the girl, Xavi, asks.

the way the twins were able to near perfectly alternate each others' sentences seemed to be mildly disconcerting...

[Zaio Volnutt]

Gather the cards scattered on the floor Sakura caught a glimpse of one card which appears to be a spider with a strange number on its body and the word Pain in the top part of the card text. She felt uneasy seeing a card like that and yet why? Despite all of that she ignored the eerie feeling and simply handed it over to the girl.

Hearing the male responding to Armin’s question Sakura stood beside her friend and listened in. Getting their names she made a mental note on that. Armin looking at the twins nodded understanding the reasoning.

“I see….”

The girl then asked about the two to which Sakura jumped in on the conversation trying to be cheerful.

“I’m Sakura Behime” She then took a polite bow. “Nice to meet you both”

“My name is Armin, Armin Noble and before you say anything, No I’m not her brother we are just classmates and yes I am younger than her.” Armin spoke in a somewhat annoyed tone, this made Sakura proceed to knock him on the head.

“Armin! Come on don’t be rude!”

Armin rubbed his head looking at Sakura “Ow that hurts you know, god….” He then looked at the twins and began speaking again “I apologize for that but anyways it’s a pleasure to meet you”.

Sakura smiled and looked at the twins “So twins huh? that sounds pretty cool, do you guys hang out here often??”.

[Rea]

"Only recently. what with so many people on edge with them rumors about people dissapearing and whatnot...well...at least somebody has to act like life is normal...show that they arent scared of whatever is out there, y'know?"

xavier takes on a thoughtful look for a moment...
at this point his sister decides to step in

"which is complete and utter insanity, I say someone needs to go out, hunt down the guy or guys who are causing it...and end them."

at this, her brother facepalms

"oh my god sis please we've been over this, that is basically murder...and at that point you'd be no better than them...not to mention knowing you you'd want to draw it out to tortu- erm anyway...yeah even if the dissapearances do end up stopping at one point...i still kinda like this place...i hate fish, like legitimately depise it but the chips are delicious!"

[Zaio Volnutt]

At the mention of the people disappearing Sakura starts remembering Zach and the last time she has seen him. This made her feel down but she keeps it hidden from the others while Armin simply remained calm and composed as always. After hearing what Xavier said her sister stepped in saying that action must be taken. To which both Sakura and Armin looked at her attentively, knowing that what she says is true and that if no one can do it they must find Zach on their own.

After a while the brother started talking again saying how the place is great and how he hates fish to which Sakura nodded her head at the mention of the chips.

“I know right? I find a lot of amazing duelists around here which is also another plus side in here, say…..we should have a duel or two sometimes, I mean you guys seem really interesting to duel with.”

Armin said nothing as he simply stared at the twin remaining silent observing the two as he still finds a bit of doubt between the two from the brother’s slip ups.

both twins immediatly recoil a step backwards out of surprise...before regaining their composure

"We uh...tend to not duel much...i mean if you actually want to however...i dont know..."

his sister immediately steps forward...and smacks her brother on the head

"Nonsense brother, complete and utter nonese, surely we can make some time to duel these two...be it 1 versus 1 duels or a 2 vs 2 duel...honestly where did your manners go?"

the brother immediately looks annoyed
"my manners died after...you-know-what happened...its nice that your trying to stay cheerful through what happened but im still in a lot of pain...this is not the place for this where and/or when would you like to orchestrate these duels."

he looks overly eager to change the subject now

[Zaio Volnutt]

After listening to this Sakura looked at the twins hearing what the brother had said made Sakura think that they must have lost someone as well.

“I’m sorry to hear that I just get excited when it comes to Duel monsters, it just makes me forget about my worries and pain”

Armin tapped Sakura’s shoulder and whispered “I think we should go in remember I need to talk to you about…..you know”

Hearing what Armin said, Sakura shook her head and nodded then looked at the twins smiling sheepishly “I guess we must go now but let’s meet again alright?”

[Rea]

"alright then i guess that sounds good..."
the brother responds somewhat dejected-sounding.

"oh excellent! this will be so much fun!"

the sister replies with a pretty joyous tone, while casting a skeptical and suspicious glance at Armin, taking a special note of what she heard him say to Sakura... before the twins walk off and turn a corner...and the moment they turn said corner and are no longer in view of sakura and armin

"you felt that too didnt you, when i mentioned the dissapearances..."

"yes...i did...that girl may be able hide her physical expressions well...but she cant hide how her emotions register on the psychic plane very well. not very well at all, hmph, its a shame to psychics i say."

"need i remind you you didnt hide your feelings very well when asked about dueling."

"need i remind you, you didnt either?"

"yes yes i am aware, but you can tell shes...different. probably lost someone to the dissapearances.

"get to the point, your trying to dance around it and im not having it."

"alright alright...do you think we should give her one of... the cards...the "special" cards...they have already been seen to cause...adverse effects on their owners...and if she if what i think she is...it will either make her stronger...or break her in a way other people cannot be broken..."

"a good experiment in concept, in execution it has a terrible oversight on your part, brother."

"really, how so?"

"that armin guy you dimwit, you and i can both obviously see hes highly suspicious of us...if we tried to gift her a card i just know he'd try to find a way to intercept us...and if it does end up changing her behavior...he looks like the kind of guy to put 2 and 2 together relatively quickly...wouldnt you agree?"

"bah alright alright, step 1: find a time when the two are separated. step 2: give girl the card. step 3: watch the chaos unfold."

Jack was walking home from a tiring evening. His glasses have been cracked and now he wasn't in the best of moods. He..senses someone or something behind him..
"Hello? Is anyone there?"

After getting hit with the lighting ruby lies on the cold stone floor she tries to muster the strength to move but to no avail. She has just enough strength to muster a few words.
"Why is this happening"
