City of Dreams, City of Puppets Part 1: The Beginning of the Introduction

This, is the beginning of your journey, PREPARE YOURSELVES!


we start, near the end of academies "class times"...directly before everyone is set to go off to afternoon break, a 3 hour period in which the students can do...whatever the hell theyd like that is within the boundaries of the laws of physics and regular laws.

Argentum, Tragon, Zachary were set to depart from Physics class, run by Dr. Frank Einstein.
Dr Einsteins class, bluntly put, is BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING. most students end up falling asleep in his class...which doesnt matter to him one bit as he sometimes manages to put himself to sleep. A lot of students compare him to a zombie...which may not be far off from some sort of truth...

Jack and Danny were set to depart from English, run by a Mr. Sirius Lee.
Mr Sirius' class is medium pace, but he puts a lot of enthusiasm and energy into each and every lecture he gives. his energy is so contagious its profoundly difficult for his students to sit concentrate, as how erratically he runs around tends to draw the students' attention more than the actual lecture...

Sakura and Armin were set to depart from Math, run by Prof. Eddie Shun
Eddies lectures...usually go very very slow. a very thorough professor who makes sure to go over every little step to every little math equation. his lectures are so thorough homework is virtually nonexistent in his class...

Luke, Roxy, and Ruby are going to be departing from Biology, run by Mr. Boe Ring
Mr Boe Ring is highly, HIGHLY enthusiastic about his job...which is an understatement in itself.
even though biology is supposed to encompass many living things...his classes mainly consist of Plants. he is obsessed  with them. especially roses, which end up as the center of many a biology lecture.

and as a final note to all those leaving their classes, remember:
most students do not want an encounter with Principle Smilen Wave and the three prefects Kowalski, Rico and a boy everyone refers to as "Private" for some reason.
all 4 of them wear similar tuxedo-esque uniforms and are seen prowling the halls...a lot...like they think their some kinda undercover blackops teams... in short, they are all designated as "weirdos" and it has been deemed prudent by many people to not piss off principle Smilen, at all.

After a good night's sleep, Danny felt ready to take on the world again. He ate a quick breakfast, talking amicably with his mother and stepmother as he shoveled Cheerios into his mouth. He grabbed a slice of toast and ate it on the way upstairs. After brushing his teeth, he changed out of his pajamas and into his school clothes.

He neatly put all the school supplies and papers that were on his desk into his bookbag, throwing it over one shoulder as he turned the light off and left his room.

An uneventful walk later, Danny was once again at school. As he walked down the hall to his classroom, he began pondering what the cutest animal actually was-- he had done this many times before in his head, but he could never actually reach a conclusion.

He was so lost in thought, that he did not notice that the classroom door was closed and walked right into it, making a thumping noise as his head connected with the wood. He shook his head, confused and disoriented. He looked at the door, finally realizing that it was closed. He looked at his watch and saw that he was two minutes late. Oops. He opened the door and tried to sneak in, but the teacher caught his eye and gave him a disapproving shake of the head.
Well, the day was off to a good start.

After math class (his last class of the day), Danny decided to stick around campus for a little while. He told his stepmother that he was planning to catch up on schoolwork... But he was actually planning to look at cute cat pictures on one of the library computers. And then maybe he'd do some schoolwork. He made his way towards the library, brushing past students in the hallways. Mumbles of "Excuse me" and "Sorry" filled the air.

When he had finally arrived at the library, he pulled the door open and was greeted by the familiar sight of countless tomes and novels. He loved books, but as of late he'd been slightly put off of them. They were windows to realms unknown, but they took time to read and get into. He still read at least three a week, but he felt guilty for not reading more...

A girl passed by Danny on her way out of the library, dressed up as a ghoul. Danny suddenly remembered that there was supposed to be a costume party tonight. And he had no idea what to go as-- nor did he really have a costume to begin with. Panic began to set in. Well, maybe he didn't have to go? Though his mother and stepmother were always urging him to go to social events when he could. They would probably make him go anyway. He would need a costume that took little effort. A mummy maybe? A ghost? He walked back out of the library, mulling over the possibilities in his head.

As the class went by both Sakura and Armin noticed something happening nearby. Taking the chance to look they find two people in their costumes. It took a second to realise it but it’s the twins which made both of them slightly raise an eyebrow at them. Seeing their outfits Sakura kind smiled at them seeing them excited for the costume day made her believe that they aren’t that bad but at the same time it made her wonder about what they really know about the incident.

Seeing that their arguing over who gets to keep the scissors, Armin sighed shaking his head as if annoyed at that. He then turned towards Sakura and whispered.

“These two are a real handful huh?” To which Sakura smiled at Armin and responded back in her cheerful tone

“Yeah they really are”.

With that said they both carried on with their work until class has ended.

Tragon sat on his deck, staring at the two twins. His eyes examined their costumes, as he wonders what he should be wearing himself for the party. The blond thinks over characters and enemies he could replicate easily, but with his natural hair colour he couldn't think of much. Finally, the bell rang as Tragon immediately took off, wanting to get home and come back in time for the costume party.

Getting home wasn't much of a hassle, Tragon quickly ran upstairs, his parents weren't home, as they shouldn't be.

He threw on a plain white T-shirt,a black and white striped sports jackets which had studs on its collar, and linen black slacks. Coincidentally, Tragon had red contact lens. After awkwardly trying to place them properly he looked at himself in a mirror and grinned. " I feel powerful already. Now, do I have to be in character? Well, just in case." He spoke, then proceeded to laugh like a madman.

"Man, it feels great dressing up as someone else. So this is how cosplayers feel like everyday!" He laughed a bit more, before turning back to school, as he locked the door, he kept his keys and deck in his pockets as he begins to make his way to school.

Jack walks in his physics classroom. It's just going to be more boring writing and tables. Needless to say, he wasn't looking forward to it. That dream..a floating city..could that be a clue..? a clue to what, he didn't know but he now feels like he should explore the city.

After a cup of coffee, Auron sprayed himself down with his cologne and stepped out onto the porch. He took a deep breath of fresh air, and lept down to the bottom of the steps wth a cocky smile on his face. His black hair shined in the sunlight as he walked toward the downtown area. "With all of the changes that happened while I was stuck on the outskirts, I wonder if there's a new card shop in the city...." he thought to himself.

Principal Smilen Wave was really excited today. Unlike most other days, he could just relax and have fun instead of being all business 24/7.

The principal and the three prefects were already at the large Dreamland duel academia school hall which was commonly reserved for such ocassions as large speeches, assemblies and parties. And today, it was for a coamstume part. All the academy staff were present as well, either enjoying the food and drinks, chatting with each other or just sitting standing around by themselves.

All of them were dressed in various costumes and suprisingly had their duel disks. Today was a costume party after all. The students had not arrived yet. Only when most were present could it be a fun party.

[Nosferatu Alucard]

After getting back to his home, Argentum dressed himself on his Vampire Sorcerer outfit even though he had to clean the staff first. "Hmm... Still looks good. Guess this will be ok." After that, he picked his Vampire-themed Duel Disk he made last year instead of the usual default one. "Well, there are always duels, right?" Then, he waited home until 20 minutes before the party, the exact time for him getting to the party in exact time.

Jack looks at the clock, oh crap! 15 minutes until the party!

He gets his stylized duel disk from his back and connects his deck in it.
"Time to party.."
He goes to the hall. Party time.

Zachary starts looking at the other students as they look bored out of their minds he thinks to himself "This students should be lucky they didn't have to grow up poor" Zach pulls a card out of his backpack and keeps looking at the word Ulti "I wonder when I'll be able to use these he thought" Zach looked up and saw the class was almost over, Zach packed up his books and walked to the front of the classroom and turned in today's assignment. Zach couldn't get the image of the knife out of his head as he stood still at the turn in box wondering "Am I next...... Who was taken before me......".

Zachary heads home dresses up in nice black pants with a light blue shirt with a white jacket  "I suppose I should go to this party, I'm not one for parties but who knows maybe i'll meet some cool people. Zachary brings his deck "I'll take this just in case I get bored or somebody wants to duel". Zachary departs to the school and walks through the entrance "Seems I'm a little early" Zach calmly walks down the hall to where the party is being hosted. "I wonder who I see at this party"

the schoolday is officially over.
the party has officially started.

everyone who hasnt already made their way down to the assembly hall area is doing so now.

as everyone draws closer, they can hear the music coming from the hall...

Auron has entered into a short alleyway for a shortcut to the main road where he deems the card shop to be loacted.

Shadows seems to dart around him from the corners of his eyes. The air seemed to spark with slight sparks and crackles of electricity. A thundering laugh echoed around him.

Suddenly a bolt of lightning arced right past him dissappearing into the direction of the main road. It was as if an unforseen force had just dashed right past him.

Auron jumped back startled, and clenched his first in anger. "Whoever, or whatever you are, this isn't funny! Show yourself, coward!" He readied his duel disk and continued walking down the alley toward the main road, and his green eyes narrowed into slits. Whatever this thing was, Auron was ready to crush it without mercy.

Jack turns around to see Skylar and Roxie. His glasses shine with the light.
"Oh, um. Hello. I'm Jack."
Jack smiles shyly. He doesn't really talk to people that often so this is new for him

Zachary walked into the dance hall "So this is a party never really been to one before" Zach pulled out his deck "I wonder if anybody wants to duel" he said with a small grin.

Zach sat up against the wall as time passed by wondering how long this would go on for.

[Nosferatu Alucard]

Argentum reaches the hall some seconds before the... Err... "*DING* *DING* *DING* *Expand DING*". He enters the hall and sits in a chair near the corner, waiting to see if there was going to be any good music at all or if anyone would want to duel. Prepared more for the second option since school's taste for music never was that good, he setted his duel disk already, but not before getting a good drink (That of course was made of cherry because the custome).

Jack looks slightly intrigued with their habit of going straight after eachover.
"McManus. It's of a Scottish origin, what are your second names?"

Principal Smilen Wave was at the furthesr end of the hall with the prefects, clearly visible to everyone because they were all wearing identical penguin outfits now.
"Just smile and wave boys, just smile and wave"
And the four did just that.
Even in a costume party such as this, the four looked out of place.

The three science teachers were conbersing together in one corner of the hall and they made a shady bunch.

Mr. Boe Ring was dressed up as a simple plain rose. His green shirt and trousers topped off by a rose petals headwear.

With a rather serious look on his face, Proffesor Kay Michael the Chemistry teacher was wearing a rather comical outfit.
An open faced monkey mask which covered his head, a large cylindrical white hat with purple radial stripes, black shirt and trousers with a blue vest bound by a white leather belt on the outside with matchig white gloves and white heeled boots completing the costume. He also had a purple cape for some reason.

Dr. Frank Einstein was dressed in a labcoat with stiches. He had painted body green and had attached two giant screws to the sides of his neck. He had also painted stitches all over his body and his forehead.
A simple yet effective Frankenstein's monster getup.

The english teacher, Mr. Serious Lee and the math teacher, Professor Eddie Shun, were busy conversing excitedly amongst themselves on the other side of the hallway. It sounded as if they were conversing abouts their students and lesssons and also that they knew each other well.

Mr. Serious Lee was dressed as a yelloe metallic scorpion with slight blue accents and a cannon on his back while Professor Eddie Shin was dressed in an academic dress with a square academic cap while wearing round rimmed glasses. He was also sporting a fake long grey, white beard and holding a staff.

In a shadowy corner of the hall was a really large muscular man dress in a full gorilla suit sporting a red tie with two yellow letters on it spelt "DK". He even had his face covered in a gorilla mask. He looked rather threatenig and out of place. Nobody dared to approach him.

Zach starts to look over at different groups and wonders what they are talking about, then he see's a group of three chatting it up and decides to start making his way over to them. "May as well make an acquaintance"

Zach approaches Skylar, Roxie and Jack. "So what do you think about this music?"

"I'm better off than most I guess, Parents are both lawyers and successful ones at that. I just don't flaunt it off really. I make my own money by playing guitar in bars and parties. So..I guess I'm almost part of the 1 percent?"

Jack hated this fact to be honest. He always wanted to be part of the locals, he never got to. His parents always sent him to private schools. He labels himself as local, as part of the system. He was not.

Jack looks at Zach then smiles.
"It's really cheesy but it's better than no music at all."
Jack can be over optimistic at times.

as Auron continues going forward, he hears voice behind him, slowly getting louder

"Bro hurry up! were gonna be late for the party!"

"well we WOULD be there on time if we didnt have to stop at home first to put away the frikkin scissors. and even then that didnt do much good cuz ya stole them when i went to get a soda."

"and who was the one who left me alone in the same room with them?"

"GAAH whatever, just try to restrain yourself from getting too... in character tonight. im serious."

"no promises~"

"screw it, dont have the time- OH FRIK"

Auron is greeted with an odd sight, a boy running past him, nearly knocking him over in the process. he is dressed very oddly with very pale skin, painted to look like a skeleton, blue hoodie, black shorts and pink freaking slippers, and a long-haired girl with zombie-ish colored skin in a red dress holding scissors also passing by auron, but on the other side of him.


they hardly even pay him any heed in their rush

"ummm who was tha- oh nevermind, was it left or right to the academy?"

"what do "was it left or right" how do you not know? your the directions guy! oooh lets just go right"

Auron will see the 2 oddly dressed companions swerve right at the end of the alley, which actually leads to the card shop.

"The name is Zachary, Zach for short um this is really some party nobody I really recognize is here although it's not like I know anybody either" Said Zach with a little bit of a chuckle.

"And who would you all be?"

Auron picks up the pace steadily until he breaks into a run. "I'll bet those two punks are the ones that were messing with my head" He chases after them until he turns at the right end of the alley and sees a sign. "Black Luster Gaming". "Welp, I guess those kids led me right where I was going." he said as he approached the door. (Btw, love the Sans reference.)

When he says his full name, there's a slick hint of Scottish in his voice, quite handsome and quirky.

As Auron enters, an old fashioned bell could be heard ringing pleasantly announcing his entry to all within.

The shop felt like a bar at a fantasy setting, apart from the items such as a jukebox at the furthest end of the room accompanied by many spiral racks full of different gaming merchandise. The place was illuminated by yellowish lighting coming from torchlike placements of electric bulbs place all over.

To the left was who appeared to be the owner of the shop behind a counter with different boxes of card games on it and bar stools infront of it. An old man whose ginger hair was tied into a ponytail, his skin a weird grayish-blue tint. He appeared to be a healthy muscular individual, holding in his hands and polishing what appeared to be a strange curved blade. He was was wearing a navh blue sleeveless shirt and matching cargo pants with dark yellow accents.

Many small round wooden tables were strewn about the shop with equally as many wooden chairs. The place even though it looked old fashioned, appeared to be rather clean.

Sitting in the furthest end of the shop in a shadowy corner, was a rather large menacing man continously shuffling cards. He was wearing what appeared to be a full length black coat with a hood and a waist-high slit goig up the back. The coat had a large silver zipper that fastened at the top and zipped down to seal the coat. It had silver drawstrings for the hood decorated with a large silver bead hanging from the end and a sliver chain ornament adorned with four larve cylindrical silver beads that fastened to a loop on either side of the collarbone region.

Both the shop owner and the large man covered by the hood stared intensely at Auron, as they were currently the only ones in the card shop.
