City of Dreams, City of Puppets Part 2: Dream Ripples

Previously:
Everyone became acquainted with Dreamland Academy
The mysterious twins appeared.
Sakura now holds number 56: gold rat.
Tragon has become one of the only people to know the secret of the twins' existence.
Argentum found and accidentally released the infernal flame emperor...and began researching into the Ancient Records of the Era Long Past.

Now it is the day after the party:
Argentum did not find much in his late night search, only slight mention of ancient ruins of a tunnel system underneath Neo Dreamland, with mentions of their epicenter holding an ancient stone tablet rumored to hold the secrets of an ancient past.

after his encounter with the flame emperor, the temperature in neo dreamland has began to rise considerably and is currently at a monster 101 Silent Honors Ark Knight Degrees Fahrenheit.

and rumors of paranormal activity in the town have begun to spread...but little proof has been found to prove the claims.

and as the final note: the dreamland academy is set to host a mini-tourny for its students in 4 days. therefore students are being granted the last 2 days before the tourny off in order to prepare.

with all that being said...
everyone has just been released from their classes into the horrific heat...now begin.

After lots of searching, Argentum found way less than he wanted, so he slept until 7:00, woke up, did his matutinal chores and went to the city library to further investigate.

In the midway, he realized that the temperature was high. (Mere coincidence or that was real. I'm going to pick the second one, that's starting to get strange enough for me to fully believe. If i'm wrong, that will be a good adventure at least.)

as Argentum walks to the library in the godawful heat...he eventually reaches the library(named the "Grand Spellbook Library".
the entire place seems deserted, looks like the majority of the usual patrons...and like, the extreme majority of the staff, decided to stay at home due to the heat.

Zach gets up from his seat and exits the school's main doors.

"So I wonder who will be at this tournament, I expect there to be lots of strong duelists.

Zach continues walking home and then wonders if he should go return his library books .

Zach decides to head to the library seeing that it's deserted, "I'll just put these books here and be on my way" He gets the urge to look around for some books that would help him improve as a duelist. "I wonder if the library has a duel simulator that I could practice on"

Ruby walked out of class and decided to head to the library so she can work on her deck a little bit. Its really hot she wishes she didn't wear a long sleeve shirt and jeans and something more like a short sleeve and a skirt.

Ruby makes it to the library without any incident, and is met with the sight of it being completely deserted.

inside she is met with an odd sight, a pair of academy students, one boy and one girl, browsing the shelves looking for...something.

they were dressed in identical white shirts, blue shorts and neon green Flip-Flops of all things.

they began talking at each other between the rows of bookshelves

"you find anything yet?"

"no...you find anything?"

"no...you think it could be on one of the other shelves?"

"possibly."

this cycle went on as they eventually started managing to make their way to Ruby's spot.

Ruby watched the twins and she sees that they are coming closer to her she doesn't make anything out of it and she continues to work on her deck as she tries to block out the twins coming to her spot.

Jack walks out of the school, with pride. He won twice and lost once. That isn't too bad honestly.
With sweat coming from his forehead due to the ridiculous heat he goes in the city to explore what his dream meant.

Lost in his thoughts, he bumps into Xavi, falling above her.

Jack continues throughout the city, he was bored because it was just the city. Buuuuuuuut, there was some strange aura around the city, like someone or something was following him.

He twists and turns through the long windy streets and alleyways, following his conscious and mind. He looks behind him.

"Hello? is anybody there?"

by the look on Xavi's face...it was at that moment Argentum knew... he fucked up.


"you, what're you- Get Off! NOW!"

she looked, sounded and was legitimately pissed.

before Argentum could even begin to give a response, she kicked him in the chest, hard enough to knock him back into a bookshelf that was conveniently labelled "Ancient History"

...the bookshelf nearly fell over on impact. None of argentums bones will be broken...but the impact site on his chest where Xavi kicked him will be sore for a few days.

"UGH. i cannot believe some people! UGH and he TOUCHED me!"

in a very angry state she moves far away from argentum, into a different section of the library, making especially sure to put her brother between her and argentum.

The pain Argentum was feeling in that moment couldn't be described, that girl seriously got some strength. Trying to look like if nothing happened, he controlled himself while talking. Slowly getting up, he cleaned the back of his clothes, the library's floor really needed to be cleaned.

"Sorry for that, didn't mean to, i was just searching for the Ancient History bookshelf..." He looked up and saw a little sign, where was writen 'Ancient Story'. "...That happens to be this one. Ah, where's my education? My name is Argentum. Argentum Ziminiar, who are you two?" (Sigh, this will hurt for a few days.)

Ruby would look over to the area where the three individuals where. She decided to get up and go over there to go see if he was Ok. She approached them. She asked "Are you ok sir?"

Argentum looks to his side to see who was talking to him. He blushed a bit. "Yes... This will hurt for a few days, but nothing to worry about. Thanks for the attention."

"if i can just uh...intervene this "moment" here...may i ask: which of you, was the one. to severely piss off my sister? even though its completely redundant because its obviously the guy who just got slammed into a bookcase...i forgot why i was here...who're you random girl?"

the brother has left his spot, and approached the duo of Ruby (i almost fucking typed "Roxy" fml) and Argentum.

Jack continues throughout the city, he was bored because it was just the city. Buuuuuuuut, there was some strange aura around the city, like someone or something was following him.

He twists and turns through the long windy streets and alleyways, following his conscious and mind. He looks behind him.

Jack is only met with silence...
silence and the burning sun.
and the sound of a warm wind blowing through the enclosed alley he was in, only making it feel hotter than it already was.

Luke Skylar prayed for some cold air to hit him. He was burning up in this heat and needed a place to shelter quickly. He had attempted to look for Roxie, however she wasn't in school today for whatever reason. He believed she had heard her talking about some new Dancing classes that she had picked up in order to prepare herself for 'Footloose - Dreamland City edition', so the chances of her being there would be very likely. With this in mind, Skylar started his long, epic journey from the school to the Dance Studios to find Roxie and get some shade.

Roxie was late.

She didn't plan to be late to her dance lesson, but last night she was extremely tired. She tried her best to wake up at a reasonable time, but this would sadly not be the case. Now all Roxie could do would be run down to the studios in hope of not missing too much of her dance lesson.

Roxie threw on her outfit, ran out the door, and dashed down to the Primitive Butterfly Dance Studios.

as Luke was "journeying" to the dance studios...something was off. if he were to look at the buildings near him, all their windows are black, there is no sound to be heard of the AC's running. It was a blackout, city-wide. he needed to rush to the dance studios fast, to find Roxie and make sure she was A. ok, and B. find a way to restore the cities power.

as Roxie FINALLY freaking reaches to dance studios, she is greeted with what is probably a dissapointing sight, but also a relieving sight. A sign saying:

ALL LESSONS CANCELLED DUE TO BLACKOUT AND EXCESSIVE HEAT

LESSONS WILL RESUME AT: ??????????????????????

it should be clear to Roxie what she must do: Find Luke and figure out what caused the blackout.

Zach gets up from his seat and exits the school's main doors.

"So I wonder who will be at this tournament, I expect there to be lots of strong duelists.

Zach's area of the library is completely deserted, not a soul to be seen. seems the computers and simulators are offline...but oddly enough it looks like they arent offline due to the blackout...but moreso to the fact that the main power wires look like they have been cut...or chewed through by...something...

Zach knows he needs to find the culprits...and fast, before they can cause even more damage.

Argentum looks to his side to see who was talking to him. He blushed a bit. "Yes... This will hurt for a few days, but nothing to worry about. Thanks for the attention."

it was at this moment...ruby didn't know she fucked up.

"you. snarky little. how hard is it to introduce your sel-"

suddenly the lights go out, signifying the blackout has officially occurred.
(everyone is now caught up to the same timeline, yaaaay)

"llllllll..."

he seemed to be stuck on the "l" sounds due to the blackout...he shook himself out of it and quickly dashed past ruby, shoving her into argentum in the process.

this time can be marked as one of the only times the brother, Xavier, has ever left his sister's side in public...ever.

wherever he is headed too is currently unknown at this time.

Upon arrival towards his home, he quickly threw off his costume and contacts, crashing in bed for the night.

he stands up

"im gonna make this short and sweet: something strange is happening...and for once it aint the fault of me or my sister. something even more sinister is at work here...this heatwave is not normal. and im sure whatever just caused the blackout isnt normal either. im going to go hunt down whatever caused the problem, at the Watt PowerPlant. your welcome to tag along if you so choose, i have a feeling whatever is there...may be something beyond my power..."
