This card isn't obscure or underused, in fact it's probably in a majority of player's side deck at the moment. I've started to put this card in the main decks for a couple decks such as Ritual Beast and Gem-Knight. This card is probably on the top 3 best side deck cards for this format. A majority of the decks you come across search and at that point you can Mind Crush them. If you have Crush Card Virus in the same deck, it be a truly devastating combo since it gets rid of all the monsters with high attack and you're now given knowledge of what's in your opponent's hand, which you can Mind Crush them. Lint has tried using Mind Haxorz in combination with Mind Crush, needless to say it's a very shanty combo, although Mind Haxorz does have its uses.

Back to the point, having multiple copies of Mind Crush is fantastic since you can wait for a moment for your opponent to add a card to their hand, which you can Mind Crush. You will now have knowledge of what's in your opponent's hand which you can Mind Crush again to pick off cards in their hand.

This card also is great against Mermails for a different reason. When Mermail Abyssmegalo or Mermail Abyssteus activate their effect to special summon themselves, they are still considered in the hand which you can activate Mind Crush and they will be dumped into the grave rather than being special summoned.

The only deck that makes this card fall short is Shaddolls, mainly because they gain their effects when sent to the graveyard. And even then, you can still call cards like Shaddoll Fusion. So even in worst case scenario, this card has very little downsides and is very understandable why it is seen in a majority of the side decks this format.
