Six Days after Genesis Storm II

News stories on both TV and in print are continuing coverage of the murder spree in the mid-west, the most recent being one reported that morning: a 20-year old male in a rural are of Ohio found dead in his home. His chest had been surgically cut into and his heart removed. No DNA or clues to the killer yet, but this killing makes the third one this year in the same manner. Previous victims were a woman in Colorado, age 46, found with her heart removed in her office and a young girl, age 5, found in her bed the same way. No connections via family nor contact. Officials have yet to comment on the murders but have stated they believe them to be connected. Many have dubbed the culprit: "The Heartless."

Mikey resting from another hard day of training his ability and working out at the gym, rests on the living room couch for a while, flipping through the channels on his flat screen television. He flips through countless of pointless reality shows and boring sitcoms before he hits the news. Before he turns the channel, he sees Beware The Heartless flash on the screen. The exhausted teen begins to sit up and pays closer attention to the television. It seems a psychotic man is traveling around the U.S. killing people at random. The jolt of fear runs through the teenager's body, not fearing the safety of his own life but the safety of the people who live in his small town. Living in a small town community, he is at least acquaintances with almost everybody in town and can't imagine some bastard walking in and killing someone for shits and giggles. Mikey clenches his fists in anger, knowing that there is someone out in the world killing innocents and he can't do anything about it, because he doesn't even know the killer's face.

A knock at the door of the young boy, interrupting his TV time.

Mikey hears a knock on the door. "God dammit I just wanna sleep." He stretches his arms and lets out a yawn and walks over to his door. He opens the door and says. "Hello..."

There is a UPS delivery man standing there. His lips formed into a friendly smile amidst his five-o-clock shadow. The man looked like he may have slept a bit too little last night and had rushed to work today, but had a friendly face all the same.

"Good day sir," his voice was almost musical, a perfect tone and pitch, "I have a package here for a...Mikey."

Mikey stands confused for a quick moment. When dd I order something from Amazon? Then he shrugs his shoulders and grabs the package from the jolly delivery man.
"Thanks, man. Funny I don't remember ordering anything from Amazon. I wonder whats in here." Mike says making small talk while signing everything needed for the box.

The man seems to perk at the question, "Near as I can tell sir, it wasn't ordered by anyone here at this address. Maybe ya won a contest or somethin?" his accent was clearly southern.

The package itself was nothing more than a large envelope.

"Um...Thanks, cya later" He says as he grabs the envelope and begins closing his door.

"Have a nice day, sir," the delivery man smiles again as the door shuts. Footsteps indicate that he leaves the front porch.

Mike walks back into his living room and through the envelope on the coffee table and sits down for a moment. "I just wanna go to sleep."

The teen sits for a moment but can't help look over at the strange envelope he received. He stands up and lets out a sigh. He begins opening the envelope surprised by its contents

Jet lag was a serious thing. As the plane descended in Philadelphia Zero put away the laptop they were using and got ready to depart. Once everyone stood up when it was ready to disembark, Zero stood, grabbed their other carry-on bag and slung it over their left shoulder. From the looks out of the window, it was dark and had to be early morning. Zero did some math in their head and came to conclusion that it had to be roughly 3:30 A.M. With a massive yawn, Zero left the plane, going down the ramp and into the airport. They went to the baggage area and picked up their massive suitcase and started to walk. The only thing on the mind of this teenager was bed and sleep.

The envelope is addressed to him, the upper corner for the return address says:

Dear Micheal:

Thank you for submitting your resume and expressing your interest with Calibur Pharmaceuticals. At present, we do in fact have an opening available in our field research and testing department and we believe a young man of your talents would be perfect for the job.

As Zero walked through the airport terminal, a young woman in a buisness suit was seen standing in the large thoroughfare, holding a paper sign that read: "Zero Ito."

Mikey is stunned without words. He never submitted any application to any company before in his life and his parents aren't the type to do that sort of thing for him without his knowledge. Furthermore he is only an above average student and his only work experience is working in his father's garage why would a pharmaceutical company want to interview him for God knows what job. "This has to be a mistake."

He grabs his cellphone and begins dialing the number from the envelope. Since this has to be some sort of mistake, they must of mailed the wrong Michael.

The phone rings.
The phone rang a second time.
The phone rang a third time.

"Hello, and thank you for calling Calibur Pharmaceuticals. If you know your party's extension, you may dial it at any time. Otherwise, choose from the following options:

"For Employment Opportunities, press 1. For Accounts Payable, press 2. For directions to one of our facilities, press 3. For Human Resources, press 4. To hear this list again, press 0."

The teen presses 4, waiting to speak to this Victor Grey.

After a short hold, the phone picks up, "Victor Grey's office, how may I help you?" a woman's voice on the other end. Probably a secretary.

"Hello, may I speak to Victor Grey, please. I received a letter about an interview that I have question about." The teen asks politely.

[Khina Bree]

"I'm afraid Mr Grey isn't in right now, he's currently on a flight to Philadelphia. If this is concerning an upcoming interview, may I ask for your name?"

"My name is Michael Meyer." He tells his secretary.

With another loud yawn, Zero rubbed their eyes trying to wipe the sleep out of them. When their vision came back into focus, their green eyes scanned over a paper that had their name on it. Zero walked over to the young woman who was dressed up all professional. "And, how can I help you?" They shifted their weight onto one foot.

"You must be Zero," she replies, "My name is Regina. I've been sent to pick you up and escort you to your hotel for the evening."

"Let me see here...ah," she says after several clacks on a keyboard, "Seems that Mr. Grey is personally coming to interview you himself."

"Umm..ok Thank you for your time." He says as he hangs up the phone. Looks like I won't get any real info untill i meet this guy.
