Section 02 - Eternal Forest

A dark forest filled with dangers, snares, and wild beasts nestled between the Lily Swamp, Azure Mountain, Scarred Desert and Abandoned City.

Beast-, Beast Warrior-, Insect-, Plant-, and Pyro-type monsters gain 500 ATK and DEF while dueling here, while Fiend-type lose 500 ATK and DEF.

Upon examining the lifeless body of his fallen foe, Linty studies the glow. As he does, the light pulses brightly and seems to force its way through Enzo's torso, coming out of his back. Not a drop of blood nor any puncture made from it however.

The light forms into a rectangle and then subsides, leaving behind...a duel monster card?

Linty carefully picks up that card to examine it, but he does plan on during Enzo's clothes into bandages once this strangeness all over with. He sighs, "All right, let's see what this card is ..."

Using the vines for safety measure. Leon climbed down the tree while still observing his surroundings. Once he was safely on the forest floor, he got his tools and weapons ready. It was then that he realized he was slightly thirsty as well. Taking a deep breath Leon trudged through the forest in search of a source of water all the while never letting his guard down. The collective presence of the forest wasn't helping one bit.

Lint stares at the card, and ignores it. He picks up his spear once again and moves what he thinks is north. He plans on going to the abandoned city, as he's most comfortable in an urban setting. His breathing is a bit heavier, and he starts to feel hungry. "I wonder what his family must be thinking now? An embarrassment to his district, but I have a mission to complete." He thought to himself.

I had stated prior in the first few topics of this that Tributes' bodies weren't to be tampered with after their defeat Tact.

As Linty goes to walk away, a sharpness pokes at his arm. Almost like a paper-cut, but without the cut. The card he had ignored was now floating at his side.

Linty turns around and sees the same card, now floating. He can't stick it into his deck because it might invalidate him, so sticks it into his shirt's breast pocket and continued on his way.

Noticing an eerie glow in the distance, Leon stopped dead in his tracks hands going to his sling on instinct. He was slightly afraid now. In the middle of a mysterious forest such as this and seeing an eerie light that felt like it did not belong here. This time it caused him to recall tales of a drunken adventurer talking about fairies. His undying curiosity getting the best of him yet again, Leon decided to head towards the light. Aware that many a wanderer had me their end this way. Like a moth to flame he marched straight towards the direction from which the light came.

Linty met up to a small stream of water, and took no chances. He put down his spear and made a small cup with his hands and scooped up some water to drink, re-hydration and all. He looks up into the trees to find any fruit, but fails to do so. Linty decides to hang around this stream for a bit, in case any animals come nearby to get a drink.

After a walk and a half, Lexie's feet left concrete and were met with the softness of the grass of the forest. She knew this wasn't the safest location to be in, but it was the most likely to have food and water so, it was a risk she had to take.
Some time later, she found the beginnings of a stream. Clean as it was going to get, she figured. Using the old water bottle she had picked up in the city, she stooped down to rinse and fill it. Water was priority afterall. Now to gather some nuts and fruit if she could....what was that light?

'Oh great, there may be some Tributes nearby. If I'm seen, I'll end up...' she quickly got to her feet and made her way down stream, trying to stay in the underbrush.

Akkarin suddently saw a light in distance, and, falling for distraction while staring at the light, he sprained his ankle, moaning because the pain. Forgetting the light, he tried to climb a tree so he could sleep the night. He ate some nuts and tried to sleep, but the night was full of sounds, so he only slept for 4 hours.

Getting thirstier by the minute, Leon was slowly losing his focus but he still kept marching onwards while keeping constant vigilance. He could hear the sounds of running water getting louder and louder by the minute. "Perhaps my mind is playing tricks on me now?" Leon thought quietly to himself. Leon observed more carefully and then started to find the source even if he thought he was hearing things. "This is going to be another long day..." Leon thought as his hand went to his sling and bolas, a habit now.

Lexie was keeping to the bushline before trying to sleep the night away in an old tree. The climb had proven more difficult than she had thought though, and fell off the first branch, hurting her left hip. With determination, she scaled the old oak again and managed to sleep over night.

The following morning crept up on the redhead and she still felt the ache in her side. Before she could even climb back down, the sight of a black-haired male caught her eyes. 'Oh great, now I'm had...'

Linty stayed at the stream for a bit longer, getting in as much water as he could. Knowing that the card's light will attract more people, he begins to run north for an hour or so, before finding a tree to hide behind. His stomach growls, and Linty thinks about where the best places animals would hide. He needs to ambush them to kill.

Lexie's heart was racing, she could easily see down stream a ways and spotted yet another person. She was cornered and no way of getting away easily with her hip hurting like it was. Her only thought was that maybe neither of them would see her. A small hope, but one she chose to cling to. Falling here meant abandoning her parents and failing her district.

The concept of her parents in sorrow over her death brought years to her eyes and she quickly wiped them away, but sniffles a bit. Loud enough that someone might have heard her, which reinforced the fear of discovery and the sorrow of her parents loss.

Leon stopped in his tracks and looked up on instinct, scanning the tops of the trees. This time he was pretty sure he heard someone and that someone was very very close by. His eyes finally rested on a girl sitting on a tree. Without as much as a thought, Leon quickly took out one of his bolas and slung it at the girl praying that it did not miss its target. One shot was all anyone usually had in the Hunger Games.

Lexie hadn't even finished wiping her eyes when something collided with her body. Stones crudely tied to one another in a sort of makeshift bola. THe sudden strike was enough to cause her to cry out, lose her balance, and tumble from the branch, the bola wrapped neatly around her neck.

She fell softer than she imagined, landing on a bush, but it was still quite painful. She turned her head to the offender with eyes of rage and tears, "What the hell is wrong with you!?"

Linty overheard the shouting of a female, in a panic of sadness and anger. He picked up his spear and runs to where Lexie is. "Hey, who did this to you?" He said, then going up to her the to help get the bolas off around her neck. He couldn't resist the urge of helping her due to his instinct of girls being weak and fragile, and so seeing that she's one of the tribute, will have someone else duel her. He won't plan on dueling her unless she was the last one left.

Before Linty got into range to get the bolas off her, he sees Leon. "Well met. I thought I was the only real adult here. But if hunting down little girls your thing?" He asked Leon with a stern voice.

Meanwhile, on every television in the Capital
"Oh dear dear me," The Game Master says with a devious smile, "young Lexie is helplessly surrounded by those two men. Whatever could they be planning to do with her?" His voice heavily implying a dirtier tone.

"Game Master! I'm shocked at you!" Genevieve interjects, "Those two seem like noble, and kind men...other than sneak attacking the poor girl I mean."

"Their men. Men only think about three things: Eating, sleeping, and fucking. Currently, they aren't sleeping and they're not eating, so that only leaves one thing," he replies slyly.

Leon could only stare at the ground in shame as the giant greeted him so. "Have I really fallen that low?" he thought to himself sadly. He suddenly looked right into the eyes of the eyes of the giant while trying to completely ignore the girl. He was about to redeem himself the only way he knew how. The way that all the adventures that he met used to do. "My name is Leon Knightenstein. And I challenge you to fair combat!" said Leon as he brandished his duel disk and stepped a few steps back. "What be your name?"

She quickly stood up, careful about putting too much weight on her hip that was still aching. If these two were about to throw down, then they might come after her next. She thought it best to back up slowly and wait for an chance to run for it.

Linty's eyes show a spark of a hidden flame burning inside of him. "I am Lint. And I will accept your challenge with only one condition. Release the girl. You sound honorable, so take back the stolen honour from doing such an act." Linty said as he brandished his duel disk again, stepping back several steps. "Another duel eh? I don't think this guy knows I am the one who dueled." He thought to himself.

Leon could only nod happily in agreement. "You there! Leave now!" said Leon as he looked at the girl. "Leave us in peace... and may the odds be forever in your favour...". Leon turned towards Lint, his heavy conscious now lifted. "Now then Lint. Let us duel without any further distractions!"

Not needing to be told twice, Lexie turned and ran. Her hip preventing her from doing so however. Not but three steps away did she feel the sharp pain in her hip travel down her leg, bringing her to the ground hard. She tried to contain her cry of agony, but it still slipped out in the form of a muffled hissing as she gritted her teeth.
