Section 02 - Eternal Forest

A dark forest filled with dangers, snares, and wild beasts nestled between the Lily Swamp, Azure Mountain, Scarred Desert and Abandoned City.

Beast-, Beast Warrior-, Insect-, Plant-, and Pyro-type monsters gain 500 ATK and DEF while dueling here, while Fiend-type lose 500 ATK and DEF.

"Not good. Not good at all" said Leon as he observed his surroundings carefully. He had heard many tales of the Eternal Forest in his childhood. Most of which he prayed now, were only tall tales of the usual adventurer on a drink. Sighing deeply, he proceeded to look for and collecting strong vines all the while uncomfortably aware of the glare of many eyes burning into his back that felt not too near but not too far away either. It felt to him as if the entire forest was alive and did not want him here at all.

As Linty entered the Eternal Forest, he felt his spine reach a chill. Already, it wasn't welcoming. With its dark look and unknown beasts hiding within the shadows and trees. However, he knew that this forest would have been more safe than the meadows, better hidden in a place like this than wide open areas.

"Not good, I can't see much light. I don't think I can get through this place all that good. There also could be another tribute ... best to avoid dueling for now." He said to himself out loud.

With that said, he began moving deeper in the Eternal Forest. Again, his heavy weight and height getting in his way of getting across this forest silently.

Being a man of the sea, Leon knew the importance of having the right tools at hand. Leon gathered himself some strong sticks and stones, stuffed them into his clothing and then proceeded to climb the nearest tree using his handpicked vines and great strength to his advantage. It was a tedious climb but it provided him a great vantage point from which he could keep an eye out for the other tributes and the other unknown dangers of the forest.
Sitting atop the tree, Leon started the task of fashioning tools out of the vines, sticks and stones all the while being constantly vigilant. He kept some vines to use as ropes and fashioned a strong net out of all the materials he had. He then proceeded to fashion himself a simple yet strong sling to lob rocks at breakneck speeds using the vines. He finished off by fashioning some cheap bolas as well.
"This has taken lot of my time today," thought Leon. "But I'll wait atop this tree to see what else I can find that is interesting"

Linty looked behind him and he was still able to see the meadows. With that in mind, he thought that the wood around here wouldn't be too wet to carve. He picked up a long branch off the ground and picked up a rock. He than began swinging the rock at the branch, at first to remove unwanted parts of the stick, then to sharpen the branch into a very crude wooden spear. Linty then ripped off the sleeves of his shirt and tore his pants into shorts. He kept the fabrics as bandages when needed, picked up his spear and continued on his way. He spent about an hour making his spear and tearing up his clothes.

I ran into the forest without so much as a regret. This is a change of pace... I thought. I could feel that my deck would be stronger here. My main beast monsters should be welcome here. The terrain was rough and muddy, and I was ready for a challenge. This was the exact same terrain my sister fought in the hunger games, hopefully she's watching me. I bet she's cheering me on, yelling at the screen to telling me to do one thing but It do another, but I don't care. the tree branches and vines started getting in the way, I pushed them out of the way. "I'm ready" I kept thinking in my head, as I go in search for my next challenge...

Drulan was carefully following Leon with the cameras and chuckled to himself
"The forest is to crouded for something interesting to NOT happen, and that place was hell on earth for me, lets see how you handle it"

Akkarin arrived on Eternal Forest some hours of walking, it wasn't really away from the Azure Mountain. When he arrived, he collected a few nuts that a squirrel was wanting to eat, he ate the nuts and killed the squirrel, taking his skin.
Then, he made a 1 inch flake blade and some small more with some flint he found around the area, then, he cut a 2 inch straight branche, using the branche that was cut in half, the squirrel's skin and the 1 inch flake blade to make a knife. With the knife, he cut a branche down and made a double-edged wooden lance with it.

(It is at this point, that Linty will catch notice of an approaching individual from the southwest)

Linty noticed a figure coming from the corner of his eye and proceeded to take action. He ran behind a tree and crouched on his knees, his crude spear gripped tightly. He plans to ambush that figure when it comes by him.

After a long time of trudging through the eternal forest Enzo began to get tired and hungry. it would be dangerous to sleep and get caught so enzo decided to scavenge for food. He eventually found some wild berries and decided to grab them to eat and advance through the seemingly endless woods.

Tribute LP:

Linty jumped out of his hiding location, lunging his spear at Enzo, only to stop halfway before the spear could connect. "A child?" He said surprised, then barked at the 15 year old tribute. "Now! Duel me here or get out of this forest! This is no place for children like you! So go back to the place where you came and no one has to get hurt." Linty hopes that the intimidation works, as he has no plans on dueling so early. But he also knows that dueling would make a lot of attention, and his deck isn't the best to be used in this forest.

"Hmph" Enzo grunted. "Very well! Let's duel!!!!" I would never back away from a challenge no matter what, he intended to make his sister proud. Even if he didn't succeed, he wanted to die trying instead of live as a coward. He had ran almost his entire life, from fights in the district and from others. But not today, this was the day he fought back.

The two Tributes' activated their Duel Disks, and as they do so, a strange barrier forms around the area, altering the colour of the world a few shades.

"Oh and we have our first duel getting underway ladies and gentlemen!" The Game Master announces over the broadcast for the Capital, "Enzo vs Linty. Place your bets folks."

Akkarin got a few more resources in the last hours, he got a stone hatchet and a backpack made of the skin of a young deer, filling the backpack out of nuts and berries he found. He also found a little source of water, he wasn't sure if the water was pure, but he saw some deers drinking of it, so he drank some of it.

The duel disks' barrier began to fade as Enzo's tired body swayed and finally fell face first to the ground, the very life from it gone. The match was over, Linty was the victor, and Enzo's body lay there lifeless.

A single glowing light could be seen coming from Enzo's body, manifesting it seemed from under his chest.

Linty went over to the young kid's corpse and began trying to search him for any supplies. "A waste of life, the youngester should have known that dueling was a bad idea." He was curious what that glowing light means however.

Upon examining the lifeless body of his fallen foe, Linty studies the glow. As he does, the light pulses brightly and seems to force its way through Enzo's torso, coming out of his back. Not a drop of blood nor any puncture made from it however.

The light forms into a rectangle and then subsides, leaving behind...a duel monster card?

Leon had been staying up on the tree all this time. Listening. Observing. "The Patient Hunter" as he had heard from a rather grim ranger in his youth. He could feel the unseeing eyes of the forest getting more aggravated by the minute. From this he could tell that he was not alone. The forest was not alone. There were others. Intruders and strangers to this forest just like himself. Nourishing himself by the fruits of the tree he was on, Leon had observed strange lights not too far away from him. Curiosity getting the better of him by the minute, Leon readied his now trusty vines for what he soon knew would become his first inevitable encounter with the other tributes, each with their own hopes and dreams just like himself.
