Alola-Variant Pokemon

I'll be listing all of the Regional Variants of Alola. In the future, I'll be making posts about these Pokemon individually and optimal sets and options you can use when building a team using these Pokemon.

Personally I found the Alola variants of Pokemon to be a bit underwhelming. Mainly since these variants don't increase the BST of these Pokemon, have very little increase, or swapped around the distribution. BST isn't the only important thing, although it definitely would have helped since a lot of the stats distributions were mediocre from the beginning. For the most part, they just seemed to change the types and give them new abilities, which is nice although it doesn't effectively cover previous weaknesses/issues that the normal form had.

Overall, I felt they could have improved a lot on this idea, and I wish they had. I look forward to your future posts and I'll be looking forward to contributing as well.

I kind of agree, apart from possibly Alola-Muk and Alola-Marowak, I do not expect to see much representation of the other Alola variants in both VGC and Smogon metagame. I think they could have done a more fair job to improve on these Pokemons.

Ive done testing with alolan ninetails and muk and i must say. While ninetails is extremely glass canon against its weaknesses it does have some decent set up like aurora veil or even encore to disrupt opponent's set up.

As for alolan muk i gotta say a really hard to kill pokemon if used correctly even tapu lele will struggle against it. Although the only thing that i felt that alolan form are missing to differentiate from their original form is stat distribution. Perhaps in a later version they will try and adjust it right.

Overall i do feel that some alolan pokemons will be used competitively while some will bite za dusto.

P.s. Hate alolan persian's design looks like an edgy version of Garfield the cat.
