literally the first episode explains it very basicly, but short story shorter is that it is spell and trap cards spread troughought the dueling field that the players can pick up and activate but you can only have one in your hand at each time and most action traps have negative effects when activated

Avian hunter of the afterlife, seek the truth with your dark eyes, and grasp glory with your sharp talons! XYZ SUMMON! Take flight! Raidraptor: Force Strix! Now, since I control Vanishing Lanius, I can summon Raidraptor-Fuzzy Lanius! I overlay them to Xyz Summon another Force Strix! Next, I activate Xyz Treasure to draw a card for every Xyz Monster on the field! I draw 2 cards! Next, I summon 2 Raidraptor-Singing Lanius! I can summon them when I control an Xyz Monster. I overlay them to Xyz Summon a third Raidraptor-Force Strix! I use all three of their effects to add Raidraptor-Impale Lanius, Raidraptor-Tribute Lanius, and Raidraptor-Mimicry Lanius to my hand! Next, I'll activate Raidraptor-Nest and add Vanishing Lanius from my graveyard to my hand. I end my turn!

ore no taan! doro! i special summon photon thrasher from my hand by its own effect, next i summon goblindbergh allowing me to summon an other level 4 monster like sacred crane! i chain my kagetokage to that and special summon him! crane lets me draw a card, now i overlay my level 4 photon thrasher and goblindbergh to create the overlay network and xyz summon!
fangs of pitch black darkness.... rise up against the foolish oppression! descend now! rank 4...... dark rebellion xyz dragon!
next i contruct the overlay network with kagetokage and sacred crane! number 39 utopia descend upon this broken world and unit every one under the banner of hope! now behold! shining xyz evolution! i, using utopia, rebuild the overlay network and xyz summon! number S39...... UTOPIA ONE! it doesnt stop here, i rebuild the overlay network once more! utopia take your next form and evolve to greater power! surpass your limits and take shape after our hopes and dreams! number S39..... UTOPIA LIGHTNING!

NOW IT'S MY TURN! DRAW! I start things off by sending Gravekeeper's Commadant from my hand to my graveyard to add the field spell Necrovalley from my deck to my hand. Next I activate Necrovalley, while this card is in play all Gravekeeper's monsters gain 500 atk and def and as a bonus this makes it so cards from any players graveyard cannot be banished and also  negates any card effect that would move a card in the Graveyard, other than itself, to a different place. Next I set 1 monster face down and set 4 cards facedown and end my turn.

I summon Yosenju Kama 3 Then i activate its Eff i can normal summon another kama monter I SUMMON kama 2 then i Xyz summon LIGHTING CHIDORI When its Xyz Summonded i can target 1 set card and return it to the bottom of the deck i choose Shadow's Face down The middle one then i activate the eff of lightning chidori if i Detach 1 Xyz matterial I can return 1 monter to the top of the deck SHADOW'S High-Speed Roid Maken Dhama Then i attack With lightning Chidori Shadowmaster With that i end my turn with 3 face downs (lp:8000 Cards on field:4 Cards in hand:1)
