"Afraid"- An Original Poem, by Stardust

I am afraid.
Afraid to make exchange or to rearrange,
Afraid to speak my mind in fears of sounding, strange.
Afraid to do what I cannot with the chance of being shamed.
My mind and talents are what I am.
When besieged with words of stone, I fall apart.
My very essence is blown back to its start.
Like a powerful kingdom after a great storm,
I am left picking up the shattered pieces, of something once glorious.
Constantly in doubt of who I am meant to be.
Questioning whether or not I am truly free.
Forever being encouraged, comforted, yet insulted and abandoned as well.
My thoughts manifest into it's own being,
Eternally arguing with what I am seeing.
In the blur of reality and dream,
I have become my own enemy...
I am afraid.

...But some how, every morning.
I find it in me, to wake up for another day.
I find it in me to hope that the ones I love will stay.
I find it in me to keep my doubt at bay.
To draw one more picture,
To see that the ones I love have not yet gone away,
To finish what I started,
Is to combat what we see, as the "impossible"
For I may be afraid,
But with fear.... comes hope.

All I can say is that this isn't a poem about MY life specifically....
This is a poem, about life itself.
