Making important highschool decisions...
As a few of you know, I'm going to be getting into highschool in a few years, and I'm about to be making a ton of important decisions for my future. I know the decisions are up to me, but I have been facing this problem ever since I started middle school. For my freshman year I can only choose one elective, but for the rest of highschool I can choose two. I've been conflicted about what I want to do in life for a long time but now I am really split between my passions. I'm going to soon need to make the important decision of what I should focus on for my career: Do I want to get into Illustration/Arts, or Engineering/Programming? As you all probably know I am very passionate about my drawings, even the most ridiculous and silly things I draw I love because it's my style, and I've been getting really good at drawing. Coming from an artistic family with my uncle being a famous artist in the Philippines, my mom baking decorative cakes for fun and my sister being a junior in a prestigious art school, it only makes sense that I'll have the chance to pursue art. But I've also been very interested in the idea of engineering and programming and working in fields of science. I've been reading about planets and space since I was a little kid and learned about the periodic table by myself in 5th grade, making science and math two of my favorite subjects growing up. Plus since both my parents work as highly intelligent programmers I also have the science background going for me to.
I know this doesn't seem like a place to consult but I just really want to know what other's would think or anything you could say. I'll probably be doing both during highschool but for a college it's going to be hard since Art and Science don't really go hand in hand. so what do you think, please post anything that could possibly help me. If you've stayed with me this far and taking the time to read this I thank you. You are all really great people and I see you more as forum members, but as friends. Once again, I thank you all for your support.

What do you enjoy the most? that is what i think you should think about, an other idea wich is the one i recomend the most is to take the programming and that and practice your art on your own or with people you know who are good at it that way you´d be able to get a job that involves programming or something like that so you get income even when not drawing and then you can earn extra by selling paintings and such or just draw for fun, just what i think though

your elective you choose as a freshmen doesn't matter, just get decent grades till you find a class you like.
