personally im not very good but from my experience mega charizard X has worked better

Imperial claw (Charizard X) EV: atk: 252 speed: 252 HP: 4 (becuse i had 4 over)
Dragon claw (the main one i use)
Dragon dance (to boost atk of course)
Flare blitz (was recomended by az and it is mostly for OHKO)
Protect (for protection XD)

im debating voer swapping one for power up punch though

You forgot to put EVs on your Gardevior. I'd recommend maxing her Sp.Def since it's she is a good special wall.

Charizard X does not work better in this situation. The point of Charizard Y is Solarbeam sweep since Solarbeam doesn't need to charge for a turn when the sun is out and Charizard Y is probably among the best Solar Sweeper.
