Xaviers Fanfic - Building the Ultimate Duelbot

[Rea]

It was a normal day in MADA. Xavier, an underworlder, was sitting in his dorm, trying to sleep.

"bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh. I can't sleep!"

He had been in a bit of a slump this last week, he hadn't dueled and his brain, usually full of insane deck ideas and archetype combinations, had been void of ideas days.

"UUUUUG, there has to be SOMETHING I can do..."

"Meeeh, maybe I should go to the Lounge Room for a bit. Maybe the quiet there will help me."

He walks forward, forgetting to open the door, he walked face first into the door.

"OR I could smack my head into my door, THAT always is another option *sigh*"

He opened the door, looking down the very dark underworld hallway.
The underworld dorms...well are very dark, Xavier didn't quite care for the dark, or the floors, horrible wooden floors. The boards have a tendency to creak when you step on them in the middle of the night when you don't want to be heard.

Xavier especially didn't want to be heard tonight. it was almost midnight, he was sure meniallight wouldn't be happy, it also went against his own personal schedule(which he takes very seriously. He does not like being off any schedule and always tries to show up early to his classes), he dreaded to think what would happen if shadow saw him. He respects shadow but fears him because he is one of the MADA admins, and a very scary good duelist.

He also didn't want to wake any of the other underworlders, especially shoey and darkmastah. It was mainly to be courteous (he never likes waking people up when they're asleep, thats a very big lesson he forced himself to learn), also he wasn't in the mood to deal with them for his own reasons.
Shoey was a nice underworlder, he just had a habit of annoying his fellow underworlders.
Darkmastah is also a nice underworlder, but after the incident in prometheus' mini monsters tourny, mastah goes on about how much he hated his opponent, and still hates the same guy to this day.


His thoughtful walk through the corridor was interrupted by approaching footsteps

"UG" he though "who would possibly be up at MIDNIGHT!"

the hallway had a couple shallow alcoves in it, so he jumped into the nearest alcove and hoped for the best. As the footsteps got closer he could make out the voices of his dorm leader meniallight and his mentor murilo.

"Ok, so you fired stardust because he was using qliphorts? where did he even get the idea to use qliphorts against shadow?"

"I have no idea"

their voices faded as they walked farther down the hallway, away from his hiding place.

"all right, after this, im never doing this again. too much effort" Xavier said

Then he began his trek down the hallway again and his mind started wandering.

The conversation had sparked memories about duels with his friend stardust.
Stardust was a member of black chaos, he was insanely good with heraldic beasts and morphtronics, but not much else that xavier has seen. He likes to think him and stardust are on equal skill level, with him being 1 dorm lower than stardust but him almost always outdueling stardust they are kind of at a standstill in terms of rank, of course number 1 spot goes to their third friend kabingo.
A member of shadow endymion, kabingo always outduels both xavier and stardust using incredibly powerful and somewhat counter based tellarknights. In terms of the relationship the 3 had, quoting what shadow said once "kabingo, you are astral, stardust is yuma, and xavier, you are nasch."

Xavier never understood the logic behind that. (of course it was later explained to him that they represented astral yuma and nasch personality-wise. how his personality is like nasch's he will never ever understand.)

of course on the other hand, when he thinks about it more-

"ow"

he had walked right into the lounge room door while he was lost in thought.

"ug i need to pay attention more..."

he opened the door and stepped into the lounge

it was a decently sized room, it had lots of chairs ranging from beanbags to rocking chairs, basically any chair imaginable was in this room.
There was even a fireplace on one end of the room, illuminating everything in front of it.

He quickly walked toward the fireplace, off to a corner off the side of the fireplace.
In the darkness there was a dark oak chair with green cusions and a table carved from spruce wood.

This was Xavier's spot, the light from the fire cast dark enough shadows that no one can see him whil he leans against the side of the fireplace(good for listening to the others talk and learn all the new happenings and news of mada without having to be bothered to talk) and no one ever checked the sides so he could work in peace and quiet.

now he sat down on the chair and took out a piece of paper

"hmmmmm what can i make today..."

he sat there for 15 minutes but couldn't think of a thing...

"COME ON BRAIN, i have to have one good idea in my heads"


duel robot...

a duel robot... he had thought of that so long ago but dismissed it as a garbage idea.

he started sketching out blueprints

"ok this could go here, it will definitely need some kind of duel gazer-like technology obviously. maybe a set of wheels...and it can have a turbo duel mode and an action duel mode...oh wait scratch that..."

he scribbled down blueprints and ideas for some time before hitting one major problem

"i. need. a. power. source. UG"

he had forgotten the core of the robot. a power source, he had a section in his blueprints for a power source but he had no ideas for what to use...

"hmmmmm maybe i could use a barian sphere cube? those things are pretty powerful, and it can double as a duel anchor for if i decide to have it hunt numbers-"

number hunting? MADA had the full collection of numbers. numbers 1-99, he assumes number 100 was lost after...something... but he hadn't heard of the over hundred numbers being in MADA's collection either...

"maybe i SHOULD add a number hunting mode to be safe..."

while he was so busy sketching and planning he never realized someone had entered the lounge...

Shadow had walked in.

As soon as the door closed and silence set in, Shadow heard a pen scribbling from one corner of the room

"seems like Xavier is probably up to some late night deck ideas. He probably snuck through the underworld hallway. I wonder if I should tell him now that there is no curfew at MADA..."

"might as well see what hes up to regardless"

Shadow walked over to the corner...
and flicked the light switch on the wall, turning on the lamp, lighting up the dark corner

"aw, who turned on the lamp, I liked the-" Xavier stopped midsentence seeing shadow standing there
"oh darn..."



"What are you drawing?"

shadow walked forward to look at Xavier's blueprints,

"A duel bot?"

"yes a duel bot" Xavier said "ive had the idea for some time but forgot about it, it resurfaced again. I know i'll never be able to build one. but I can always dream I guess..."

"actually no you don't have to dream" shadow said "I know where you can find some parts"

Shadow walked over to a door labeled "Do not Open" and opened it,
a ton of mechanical parts, disassembled robots ("is it me or do some of those disassembled robots look like orbital units?" Xavier thought)

"Everything you need should be in here, your on your own for a power source though" Said Shadow

"well I can always take an engines from one of those old duel runner's no one uses anymore" Said Xavier

"Just don't touch my bike" said Shadow "those robots" he gestured towards the disassembled orbitals "broke my bike"

"Ooooook, good to know... .__." Said Xavier

Do not mess with shadows bike.


"well might as well get to work" Xavier said as he pulled out several sets of tools and a wrench,
"lets build things!!"

(A few hours later)


"all right, now that that unpleasantness is over I finished the prototype Bot 1"

the bot was not very impressive looking, it looked like a mishmash of mismatched robot limbs and everything was several different colors

"bleh I wish I coulda changed the color scheme of it...meh painting it will be for another time"

All while this was happening shadow was silently watching him work.

"bleeh, what to use as power...IDEA" Xavier sprinted out of the room and disappeared down the hallway.


"What is he up to now?" Thought Shadow

[Rea]

A few minutes later Xavier sprinted back into the lounge
"so tired...deathsprint not good idea...but I got IT"

Xavier took out a D Cell battery and 2 decks of cards

"ok your probably thinking this battery is just a normal battery and wont power a thing, but I tweaked it and tested its power output and my power output measuring gauge...it broke the gauge..."

"what about those cards" Shadow asked him

"these, these are 2 special decks I made up in my spare time. One I made specifically for this robot, the other is for me"
Said Xavier

"and you had those lying around for how long and for why?" shadow asked him

"ehhhh...doesn't hurt to be prepared in case one of your dreams does come true...right?" Xavier said back

"Sure it doesn't..." Shadow said back to him.

"well, I guess time to boot this robot up and hope for the best" Xavier said as he plugged the battery into the robot.

The robot's eyes lit up "boot up procedures in progress"

a little hourglass loading icon appeared

"ug stupid low tech tech" Xavier complained

"bootup complete, I am the X4V13R duel unit."

"YES IT WORKS!!" Xavier was jumping around, very excited his invention was working

"now then duelbot, take this deck." Xavier said to the new robot

the robot took the deck

"deck input accepted"

a duel disk sprang from the robots arm and it put the deck in the deck slot

"well then shadow, should we go to the arena?" Xavier said as he walked out the door with the robot following behind

*The next Day, at The MADA Duel Arena*

The Duel arena was a huge Roman Coliseum, everything was kept in good condition and the sun shined off the polished stone.

"all right, lets do this" Xavier said

"X4V13R duel robot ready for duel testing" the robot beeped.

"then lets do this..." Xavier said in response

"Duel disk, GO!" Xavier shouted

"duel disk activated" said the X4V13R Robot

"lets do this duelgazer!"

"Duel gazer mode activated" the robot said as one of its yellow eyes changed to a bright red

"Let's Duel!" Both said at once

A robotic version of the nekroz of brionac appeared on the field.

"I activate its special ability, when it is summoned I can add a MetaMech Monster of higher level from my deck to my hand. mI choose to add MetaMech Trishborg. I then set two cards and end my turn"

Then its my turn then, I DRAW" said Xavier

"first off I summon the Xavier Battleship"

A gigantic battleship appeared on the field
(Xavier battleship, level 8 machine type 2000 atk 2000 def)

"its special ability allows me to summon it without tributes if you control a monster while I control no monsters then its secondary ability goes off, letting me summon another Xavier monster from my hand, so come on out Xavier Bomber!"

a hangar opened on the battleship a warplane with an X painted on both sides flew out of the ship

"now my Xavier bombers effect activates, when its special summoned by an Xavier monster, its attack becomes 3000 and it level doubles to become level 8"

"then I set 3 cards an end my turn"

"I activate my Facedown Spell, MetaMech Factory, this lets me summon a metamech monster in addition to my regular summon, now I summon MetaMech Clausotron"

A mechanized version of the nekroz of clausolas appeared on the battlefield

(MetaMech Clausotron, Level 4 machine type 1500 atk 1500 def)

"and with this, clausotrons effect activates, I can add 1 MetaMech spell or trap from my deck or my hand, I add my trap MetaMech Reinforcements. I then activate my factories effect, I can now summon an additional metamech, I tribute metamechs clauotron and briotech to summon MetaMech Trishborg"

A Mechanized version of the nekroz of trishula appears on the field

(metamech trishborg, Level 6 Machine Type 2300 atk and 2000 def)

"and with this trishborgs effect activates I can banish 2 metamech monsters from my graveyard to summon two metamechs whose level equals their total levels. so appear MetaMechtellarknight Deltron and MetaMechQliphort SkyFrame"

"furthermore, their abilities now go off, first Deltrons ability lets me return a banished metamech to the grave, return to my graveyard METAMECH BRIOTECH. then Skyframe activates, adding a banished MetaMech back to my deck, Return to my deck METAMECH CLAUSOTRON!"

"Then its MY turn, I DRAW" Said Xavier

"First off I activate my set Spell Xavier Call, when I control 2 or more level 8 Xavier Monsters I can summon another one from my deck in defense position. Appear Xavier Tank!"

(Xavier Tank, Level 8 Machine type, 3000 atk, 1000 def)

and the Xavier tank comes with a special ability, when its summoned, I can destroy 1 set card on the field, say boodbye to your set"

The Xavier tank takes aim and fires a missile at the X4V13R's set Trap, Destroying it

"Now I activate my Xavierland field spell!"

The field changed from a roman coliseum to a duel in a gigantic castle courtyard, with an even bigger castle rising up, with its flags being black with red Xs on them, the Xavier Crest.

"now I activate the Effect of the Xavier Warmaster in my hand, when I control Xavierland, this guy summons himself out from my hand!"

the castle gates opened, a hooded figure walked out, it had a sword in one hand and was holding a scroll in the other, 2 gleaming red eyes could be seen from under the figures hood

(Xavier Warmaster, Level 8 Warrior Type, 2500 attack 2000 defense)


"then as the grand finale I activated my facedown spell, Xavier Reinforcements. with this card I get to add an Xavier monster from my deck to my hand. I add the Xavier Grunt!, I then summon the Xavier Grunt!"

The castle gates opened again, a soldier in silver armor ran out and entered the battlefield with only a spear
(Xavier Grunt, level 1 Fiend type, 500 attack 500 defense)

"now the grunts effect activates, while I control 4 other Xavier monsters I can make his level 8 until the end phase."

The Xavier Grunts level increases to 8

"now prepare youself, I overlay Xavier battleship, Xavier bomber, Xavier tank, Xavier warmaster and Xavier Grunt. I BUILD THE OVERLAY NETWORK! XYZ SUMMON!"

The xyz portal open, and the number emerged in the form of a giant diamond, there was what
seemed to be a dark blob in the center of the diamond, the blob grew larger, the diamond started to shatter, the blob grew larger and larger until the diamond finally exploded. The blob floated down and
it started to take shape, it turned into a floating humanoid silhouette, it had no legs, it was just a tall looming figure made of pure darkness. the number 90 appeared on its left arm.

"Behold darkness, evil and despair given form, meet the creature that has sent many into the pits of despair, NUMBER 90!"

the monster's dark aura was ominous, its mere presence would make any normal person want to crawl into a hole and hide there for all eternity.

"Now my number's effect activates, when it is xyz summoned it gains 500 attack for each of its overlay unit, it has 5 so it gains a whopping 2500 attack"

The number grew larger and the light in the area dimmed considerably as the number obstructed most of the sun

Number 90: 4000 attack -> 6500


"and one of my numbers secondary effects activates, it gains powers based on how many overlay units it has, and when it has 5 it gains an additional 500 attack for each one.

Number 90: 6500 attack -> 9000 attack.

"and with this i end my turn without doing anything else"
