Arena - Meadow

This meadow seems to have storm clouds in the sky at all times.
Abandoned City to the West. Woods to the East.

Nora nervously made her way into the midst of the vast open plains, looking in all directions, seeking out any signs of life or motion that wasn't caused by the wind. The darkened skies above her seemed to grow even darker with every passing moment, a perfectly ominous beginning to what was sure to be a bloodbath of a competition.

Young miss Beckford had seen the Hunger Games broadcast across the Distrcts' massive plasma televisions last time around, and the time before that, and the year before, and so on. The very concept of these Games appalled her but here she was, a Tribute for the very skirmish she detested so much.

She took a moment to look at the top card of her dueling deck and sigh, "Looks like you guys will have to really pull some weight this time around.

Even though they were cards, Nora always felt she could hear them speak back to here. This time, the slight lady on the card in the golden dress and black leotard seemed to wink at Nora, signalling that they would all do their best for her.

With a bit of confidence now, Nora strolled across the fields in search of ... well, anything.

The storm clouds that were building over the entire day turned very black as the sun finally settled in the west. As soon as the sun was gone a big bolt of lighting shot down from the sky hitting a tree and causing it to explode and set fire to the rest that remained. After the first bolt, another came down, this time in the meadow. Then another and another and another. It was a very bad lightning storm.

The young woman stopped, startled by the bolts of violent electricity barraging the grassy plains around her. Nora mustered her courage and ran for the crumbling city nearby, believing she could take refuge there.

Nora made it, barely, to the crumbling city. As soon as she crossed into the city the bolts of lightening stopped in the meadow for the time being. It looked like it was smart lightening that could sense a tribute.

Xavier arrived in the meadow, stopped and immediately almost collapsed from his sprint...
"Just... Need... Moment... To... Catch... Breath"

He looks up and sees the sky, and immediately sighs heavily

"oh yay, let me guess, acid rain or something?
he said in the most sarcastic tone he could muster...

"i hate this... i hate everything..."
He decided to run the only direction he Could run... West, to the city.
