The deck I would like to showcase today is one that is thought to be dead played by few that know their wacky wombo combos we have none other than Ritual Beasts. This archetype has deemed too powerful by Konami with the recent hit of Ulti Canahawk to one since Ritual Beast players would loop Canahawk getting a lot of searches such as Ritual Beast Steeds and Ritual Beast Ambush which would lay the opponent in salt while you derp all over their face. With the hit to one it hurts them a ton but doesn't kill them like people thought. All this hit has done is mainly two things one you have to play more carefully and two Rampengu lost some steam which can make it harder to get Canahawk to the grave. For the playing more carefully part it means don't be a idiot and throw your Canahawk at your opponents set 5 because in all honesty it's not going to survive. The games backrow has grown with Ritual Beast hate with the release of cards such as with the release of Grand Horn of Heaven and Solemn Strike. To fix this problem I have taken the approach to eradicate all backrow that my opponent could have set to disrupt my plays with Canahawk and friends. Now with the release of all this strong Ritual Beast hate do you think Konami would help them out? The answer is yes with the release of Twin Twisters you can obliterate your opponents backrow with the cost of a discard. Now I know you think well Ritual Beasts don't like to discard that much and yes I agree onehundo with you but you see Twin Twisters can set up plays for Lara and Zefrapilica plays.

Now getting into the build most people prefer lot's of tamers and too that I say you idiot they clog like no tomorrow the way I prefer playing it is with 3 Elder which he is the best one by opening combos turn 1 for 2 searches and then one of each of the other tamers because I prefer to use them as cycle food to continue the looping instead of using them for their summon effects. Next we have the beasts the line up I have is pretty standard with all Ritual Beast decks. Even with Rampengu losing some firepower opening Elder and Rampengu still guarantees you two searches. Upstarts up the consistency of the deck due to Ritual Beasts "bricking" fairly easily we want our combo pieces as fast as possible so why not play a 37 card deck even with giving the opponent life points you can still perform the Ritual Beast Otk. Emergency Teleport is a iffy card in the deck as it allows you to get directly to the tamers although it can clog if you have already used all the tamers. Twin Twister as I have already explained before helps you get rid of your opponent's backrow and have a clean field to do your wombo comboing on. Coming up on a card that i've recently added to the deck is Instant Fusion this card allows you to go into a Norden which opens plays for Xyz's such as Emeral to put the Ulti Canahawk back or even a Cowboy for game (Bang Bang) as well as the newly added Traptrix Rafflesia. Foolish Burial is used to set up Lara and Zefrapilica plays as well as Wen plays if you have a D Fissure or Macro Cosmo's up.

For the traps you have the main 6 Ritual Beast traps that make the deck complete. First you have Ritual Beast Ambush being one of the cards to enable the Ritual Beast Otk it is able to special summon 1 tamer along with 1 Spirit Beast from either the grave or the Banish zone. Second we have the card everybody hates in the deck Ritual Beast Steeds this card is quite special with the effect to destroy monsters of the field up to the amount of Ritual Beasts you currently control which allows for some sick plays being able to activate this as Chain link 1 then as Chain link 2 Chaining the Ulti Ritual Beasts uncontact effect then as Chain link 3 chaining Ritual Beast Ambush which after the chain resolves will allow you to destroy 4 monsters on the field. Moving on with the traps we have 3 Solemn Strike because it's at 3 and it's pretty good..Um yea guess that wraps that one up..... Moving on we have the one of's being Time-Space to send off Raffelsia as well as bottomless. Next warning "staple" Vanity Emptiness "Staple" and Macro Cosmo/D Fissure to banish the Ritual Beasts to open more looping as well as to make the opponent cry as you banish all their monsters while you style on em with Canahawk.

Probably the biggest thing to change in the deck is the side deck. Starting off 3 Veiler to stop the opponent from triggering effects such as Skullcrobat Joker and Performapal Pendulum Sorceror. Two Droll and Lock Bird to prevent further searching from the opponent (Sadly we can't do Artifact Durendal Droll and Lock Bird combo RIP). Two Max "C" to keep the opponent's Special Summoning in line and to further provide draw power if the opponent wishes to continue. Three MST as well as one Twin Twisters sided since Ritual Beasts hates backrow and if the opponent wishes to side floodgates for use we will be ready to destroy them and then derp on their face but in honesty 3 MST might be too much but for now it's worked fine. Raigeki so your opponent can feel the lightning as well as it's pretty good against rogue decks. Lastly we have three Anti-Spell Fragrance because screw you and your pendulum decks Razz but yea this card helps a lot vs pendulum decks as well as turns them into a beatdown deck (Should this card be banned not at all is this card freaking amazing indeed it is).

Onto the extra deck 1 Ulti Canahawk cuz Konami is dumb.... yea I got nothing..... 3 Ulti Apelio because the is your Otk maker as well as you can send one off with Rapengu to demp Apelio from deck to grave. 2 Ulti Gaipelio cuz this is usually your game ender as well as Rampengu can banish it to send 1 of the tamers to the grave. 2 Pedophin... I mean Pettlephin cuz it can send Pettlephin to the grave as well as it's a great staller as it is immune to destruction and has 2800 def. 1 Norden because we play Instant Fusion and he opens the Rank 4's. And pretty much after that you have rank 4's to fill the open space as well as I have seen some people play Gachi Gachi because of Elder and it clogging.

Ritual Beasts is a fun combo based control deck that takes some getting use to. It isn't a deck you can learn right away as you need to know all the combos to become a Ritual Beast MASTER!!!! This deck is a good rogue choice with it's control playstyle and with it's adorable artwork I hope you give this deck a try and I also hope you enjoyed the deck showcase. Any suggestions would be great as all criticism is ok (But not from all you Ritual Beast haters that need to go die in a hole.... I see you i'm always watching...).

If you read through all of this congratulations on doing so now go out there and be a Ritual Beast Master!!!

Overall, I think this article is well written and a good read at that.

In the future...how about an article on Empowered Warrior?

Sweet take on the spirit beasts I once did cover this archetype before D-rulers were hit. Another interesting thing that I found with the deck is the fact that Guardian Eatos works incredibly well with this archtype in terms of applying pressure as a 2500 beater Smile.

This data. I like it. A good read even.
Works out rather nicely actually. But man, that unavoidable brick when it happens x_x

Could you do one on PSY-Frames next? XD

Have you tried Brain Research Lab? I found it helpful for recovering from dead hands. It provides the extra normal summon you need and can be great for pulling off unexpected combos.
