Fire Emblem Awakening

I said I would start doing this, so here goes.
Its been out for more than 2 years, I just got a copy, and it's been a while since the last FE title I played so everything is new to me in a sense. As I was going about trying to find simpler walkthroughs that would explain the gameplay and the new mechanics a little better, I was also hoping to seek opinions on what to tackle on. (I've yet to get dlc for the game, and I will get it soon) So if anyone has anything to offer for a first run through, or has any suggestions to help a fellow gamer out, please don't hesitate. Offer everything advice you can, but please ;~; keep it simple. My brain hurts everytime I search through gamefaqs or ign and others like them.
