YuGiOh: The Hunger Games II - Rules, Information and Sign Ups

A role-play event based on the book and movie series The Hunger Games. In this role-play, participants from the various dorms of the academy are known as Tributes. These Tributes engage in a life or death contest to determine which dorm reigns supreme and is granted the Grand Prize (to be announced)

Sign ups are from now until Friday next week (Oct 30). The Games will officially start the following Friday, November 6.

Rules

Each Tribute must participate at least once every two days. If a Tribute has not posted at least one time within 48 hours (either in game or a notice of absence) then they are considered "dead" and are removed from the Games.

Decks in the Games are restricted in several ways. The first and most important restriction is the Archetype Clause. Each deck may only consist of one archetype and cannot use any cards if they belong to another archetype. Certain archetypes cannot be selected. This is a contest, but is a role-play first and foremost, so we want to keep it entertaining.

When a Tribute loses a match, or their LP are reduced to zero (out-of-duel LP) they are slain and removed from the Games. Fallen Tributes, and their decks, may not be taken, used, or otherwise affected by the remaining Tributes. (This means no stealing decks from the fallen).

The Games are over when only one Tribute remains, granting themselves the Grand Prize.

As this is a role-play, take note that story is the most important part (along with everyone's enjoyment) so expect the GM to add things to the story to keep things interesting!

Deck Restrictions and Guidelines

Each Tribute is restricted to a single archetype for their decks. This means your deck may not use more than one archetype, even for techs or support. If a card belongs to more than one Archetype, you MAY run it by the GM for permission to use in your deck.

Any card that is "generic" (not a part of any archetype) may be used at its maximum legal status in accordance with the MADA Ban List.

Of course, the Hunger Games are primarily a role-play, and that means its a story to be told. Meaning some archetypes will NOT be permitted in the Games. For a full list of banned decks, see the list below.

Deck Master

At the beginning of each match, each player selects one monster from their deck to act as their Deck Master. The card chosen must be a main deck monster. Once chosen, it is placed in the banished zone. At anytime during the duel, you can choose to special summon your deck master but if it ever leaves the field by any means, you automatically lose the match.

Deck masters will yield special perks during the duel. A full list of perks will be posted soon.

Seeing as how the MADA Hunger Games is in fact a roleplay, I would like for each participant to also register their characters here.

A few guidelines for these characters:

1. No super powers, magic, or extraordinary abilities. Norma humans only.

2. Your characters are from a world similar to that of the Hunger Games books and films, so you may have some liberty with origins but keep it believable please.

3. Age is irrelevant for these characters. They can be as young as 10 or as old as, well, however old you think they can live.

4. Be imaginative. No one likes a boring, cookie-cutter character that was borrowed from an anime or TV show.

Personality: Introverted, Cynical, and Snarky.
Bio: A college student who attends a prestige academy in District One, he was one of the smartest in the classes. A man with little to no social skills, who spends his time muttering to himself about how awful other people around him truly are. Even during breaks, he'd mostly crash in his room roaming forums and the web. If he was not spending most of his time wasting life, he'd check up on history and the deck that he owns, while looking at the other Samurai related media he has in his drawers. However, this all changed when his family pressured him into playing in local tournaments around his area, getting him some much needed unwanted attention from others. After his family and now peers forced him to join the hunger games. He bites his pride and joins, knowing that he'd no longer be able to avoid the one thing he wanted, attention.

Bio: At a young age John lost both his parents in a factory accident due to the unsafe working conditions. Their was an unexplained explosion that killed dozens of workers. Orphaned at a young age he never learned his last name and had the scrape to survive. But he never let s smile leave his face, he didn't want his parents to worry about him in heaven. He eventually grew up into a hard-working young man who helped many of the other orphans within district 5, the district had an abundance of them due to the unsafe working conditions. After being picked for the Hunger Games, the only thought running through his head is who is gonna take care of all the orphans he's been taking care of.

Bio: he grew up in the 7th district and when he was 15 years old he got his D/D deck, people always found him kinda weird but since he didnt do anything nobody really cared, that is untill he was 21, the police had been sent to stop a fight and when they got there he was laughing and slashing up an other person with a knife, the police managed to arrest him with only minro injuries, it was decided that he would be sent to a mental institute, he escape a total of 4 times before they decided to sign him up for the hunger games hoping to get rid of him permanently

Brave individuals have the confidence and grit to keep moving forward even though that given their horrid circumstances it would be unreasonable for them to stay on the path that their on as it seems to lead to nowhere. They venture out into the dark where there is no path and create one. These amazing characters are the trailblazers of our society and continue to shine, even unto death. Jaximus frost is a young orphan child who resides in District 5 with other orphans. To cover up for his tragic loss of his parents he has developed a rather arrogant attitude towards the world and everyone in it. He has a flaming hot temper and a snobby attitude towards everyone he encounters and carries the belief of ''When I look into the mirror, all who aren't behind me are below me.'' Surprisingly enough his deck based around a archetype called Fire Fist seems to be fitting for a adolescent with such a hasty personality.

Notice for ALL TRIBUTES

Do not submit deck lists with cards that you PLAN to make a Deck Master, JUST to be a Deck Master. As the rules will show, your characters WILL NOT KNOW about the Deck Master rule UNTIL the Games begin.

Build the decks as you usually would without "extra" cards mean to be the Deck Master.
