School Work In The Academy?

Since I've been a member on MADA, I've always wondered if we would have 'school work' to do since we're part of an academy. At the last academy I was on, we had a teacher/professor in charge of a dorm and every week they would come up with an assignment for us to do so that there was something to do. Doing the homework, you would be graded and based on your grade, you gained points. It motivated people to take a little bit of time from their lives to work on an assignment and try to get points.

Assignments range from: Duels using decks that aren't in any tiers, research on a card and give as much possible information on it and how it's used and when it can be used. Taking quiz's based on your dorm.
Lowest dorm: Easy quiz
Middle dorm: Moderate quiz
Top dorm: Hard quiz
Elite Dorm: Very hard quiz.

And to show that you are doing your work, you can take screen shots or if you have a YouTube account, you can record yourself doing your assignment and upload it and turn it in to have your teacher/professor to watch it and then grade it accordingly.

Since this a discussion, what are your thoughts on this? Too much work? Sounds fun? This shouldn't happen? What? I would love to hear what you have to say about this. ^_^

we actually planned to do this when this place was founded but due to some reasons it was decided it would be done later then i guess we just never started really

Well seeing how there are a lot of new members and the activity has spiked, we could possibly start having some homework and lessons.

Well we do have a homework section or something for each dorm. We actually used to do this.
Heck I've done some homework even when they were a thing. Helped me out a lot and challenged me to do and try out things. Heck I learned so much from just doing these homeworks. After all data gained is the most valuable aspect of these.
So yeah I agree that the assignment thing was really good and we shoul started doing them again. Only one problem. I'd like it if the members actually did them which has always been the issue. Ba.

Academies are suppose to be fun, so should the homework, it shouldn't feel too much like work since this sort of stuff is suppose to be fun for us

Homework eventually turned into challenges since we didn't want to make homework a required/forced thing for members. And then people who assigned the challenges had started to become lazy. How challenges worked is that they were 100% optional to do but you'd get an MC reward out of it. I will write down this on the queue of things to discuss.

I think creating different deck challenges would be more interesting and be more helpful to beginners. Giving them different ideas/play styles to use in order to help them grow as a player. Since me personally find academy "Homework" boring and more work necessary to improve as a player.

Homework like tournaments, can be optional. You don't have to do it but if you do, here's some points. I think it should be fun and to get your brain working. The homework can be as simple as a duel puzzle. Get's you to think outside the box so that when you play, you know some new tricks that might help you get that win. =3
