NADA/MADA Chūnin Exams (NADA hosted Event)

Greeting students and staff of MADA, I gladly invite you all to partake in this special event that will be across both NADA and MADA. NADA's first ever Chūnin exams will start up officially soon, if you are interested in joining please read the rules and regulations, sign ups end officially August 29th on the day of the events start up.

Rules:
1. (No Burn, Stall, Alternate, Final decks are allowed.)Tier 1 is allowed but go outside the box, try playing various tier 2 and lower decks.

2. TCG/OCG cards are allowed to be used on the exams.

3. Members with the title rank of Admin cannot participate in this tournament so they can be active proctors for the duration of the exams.

4. As part of the challenge Testers, Teachers, and Moderators will be allowed to participate in this tournament although will not be able to rank up in this event.

5. Must stay active here at all times no need to wait around.

6. In the event a student is taken into consideration for a rank up an interview/duel will be taken place after the tournament.

7. No cheating, rule sharking, flaming, or bullying during the exam. Breaking any of these will result in forum punishment or banning from other tournaments.

8. Deck changing is not allowed stick with the deck you have and show what you can do with it.

9. Duels must have watchers chat open and screenshots of the duels must be taken and PM'd either to an admin or posted as a response.

10. Loser bracket will be open in the event the tournament has a huge turn out.

11. Duels will be a best 2/3 Match with siding.

12. Sign ups end August 29th

13. Respect other academy students/staff we are affiliates so do not appear to show any signs of harassment, disrespect, or cyber bullying (This is very very very deeply advised you follow.)

14. You will have 24 hours to log into DN and complete your match if your opponent or you are not on during that time your position on the bracket will change and will result in a match loss by default.

15. Brackets will be posted on the day of the Events start up make sure to give your DN name for the bracket.

Sure you have a bunch of rules, but there is 0 explanation to what the chunin exam is. Is it just a basic tournament held between 2 academies? How does rank up work? If this is a tournament will it be held on challonge or another tournament site? How do the interviews work? Are proctors necessary for duels to take place? What are proctors' basic job?

So to answer all of these questions for anyone still confused on how this event works here you go. The chunin exams is an opportunity for NADA/MADA students to gain the chance to rank up into a dorm higher then their current one. The tournament will in fact be challonge based and a bracket for your opponent will be posted on the day the tournament starts. The tournament bracket is combined with members from both NADA/MADA which means that this event will be a join tournament meaning that all members and students are put in the same pool. Ranks vary depending on how well you do in the tournament, for example (I could win the entire tournament and not be promoted into a new dorm.) It simply depends on how well you do, if you show promise, hard work, and excellent dueling skills. If you meet these categories you will be called in for an interview with the proctors on your performance and be considered for a rank up. The interviews will consist of a few questions made up by myself that I will give to the proctors if anyone manages to make it that far. Going back to the rank up it is possible 6 students can be chosen to rank up or have absolutely none. The main point to this tournament is to test any unseen potential and give the opportunity to give back to the community. Proctors will try to be in every duel, seeing as we are combining admins per duel academy every duel should at least have one proctor in it. The job of the proctor is to take notes on the duel themselves copy down any key points such as plays, mistakes, consistency, simple testing rules, as well as competitiveness.
