what was your childhood bogeyman?

by that i mean what was the most scary creature/person/whatever in anything you saw during your childhood, you dont have to be afraid of them anymore but at the time, to me it is the most horryfying creature of the winter... the problem is that it is a tie between 2 of them both from the same anime (yes im speaking about the anime adaptation of moomin)

The groke and the lady of cold

ima start with the groke, she is the universal childhood nightmare for any one who grew up on the moomins and for good reason! i still have night terrors now and then! heck i cant go to the bathroom at night becus eim afraid she´ll stand outside my door! and the biggest reason im afraid of her back then was whenever she apeared but nowadays its becuse of the first time she apeared, the build up is about 90% of why she is scary, no actually 95% but i do not advice you to check it up in english becuse the voices and stuff make it seem ridiculous, it is way scarier in other languages

next is the lady of cold, if you so much as look into her eye you become made of ice, that very concept and the fact that she, unlike the groke who was just a misunderstood loner, is down right cruel and is actively trying to freeze people unlike the groke who did not want to freeze them, she doesnt apear that much and dont get any character development so the groke is a better character and probably th ebigger bogeyman but hey when i saw the lady of cold i down right refused to look her in the eye even if it was just a show!

I remember having a serious fear of this creature, I cannot recall a name for it, that had glowing green eyes and stalked the woods in my neighborhood.

According to the urban legend, the creature was supposed to resemble a small gorilla with no fur and had claws that cut the very air. It's eyes were an otherworldly green and had fangs that seeped with a yellow ooze. I recall seeing a pair of what I thought were green eyes glowing in the trees behind our house and freaking out. My mother had to stay in my room that night and I never would look outside after dark for years.

Hmmm for me it was the darkness. I thought there was a monster that would grab me and eat my body. I am over the monster and the dark. I only am afraid of spiders. XD

Well im not exactly out of my childfood now but i have to say that when i was a litlle bit younger i was afraind to push the water in the toilet at night so i just pushed it and ran in panic becuase i was afraid of someone killing me...
