Stitch Archetype- An archetype I made up Empty Stitch Archetype- An archetype I made up

Tweek wrote:It kinda combines Xyz and pends. It's not a bad idea, honestly. But I think this would be a better idea for an archetype than a generic summoning mechanic. The "stitch" monsters could be generic vanilla and/or effect Xyz (or non-generic if you like) that can be summoned with the spells to gain effects.

So tweek gave me the idea of instead of making this a new summoning, just make it an Xyz archetype XD so now please enjoy a series of made-up cards that I clearly spent way to much time into thinking about: (possibly might draw out card designs)

Spells:

Stitched Heart
(Continous spell)
Special summon this card as an Effect monster (1000 ATK/1000 DEF, LV 4, DARK Zombie) and it gains the following effect: An Stitch Xyz monster that has this card as an overlay unit can once per tun not be destroyed by battle.

Stitched-Eyed Iron Jaw
(Continuous spell)
Special summon this card as an Effect monster (2000 ATK/0 DEF, LV 4, DARK Machine) and it gains the following effect: This card cannot attack your opponent directly. You can only have one "Stitched-Eyed Iron Jawy" on the field at a time. An Xyz stitch monster with this card as an overlay unit can activate the following effect:
Once per turn, you can de-attach one overlay unit to activate one of the following effects:
-This card gains 1000 ATK
-Inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent this turn.

Stitched Eyeball
(Continuous spell)
Special summon this card as an Effect monster (500 ATK/500 DEF, LV 4, DARK Zombie) and it gains the following effect: A monster using this card as an overlay unit can activate the following effect: De-attach one overlay unit, this turn this card can attack your opponent directly.

Iron Implant Stitch
(Continuous Spell)
Special summon this card as an Effect Monster (0 ATK/2000 DEF, LV 4, DARK Machine) and it gains the following effect: A stitch monster using this as an overlay unit can de-attach one overlay unit to activate one of the  following effects:
-This card gains 1000 DEF
-Inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent this turn.

Stitch-Eyed Cage bones
(Continous Spell)
Special summon this card as an Effect Monter (0 ATK/1800 DEF, LV 4, DARK Zombie) and it gains the following effect: If this card is used for an Xyz summon, draw cards equal to the number of XYZ materials used for the summon.

XYZ Cross Stitch
(Quick Spell)
Target 1 Stitch XYZ monster you control. Banish the target and if you do, Special summon 1 Stitch XYZ monster from your extra deck or graveyard with its effects negated. Then attach 1 stitch card from your graveyard to that monster as an overlay unit.

Sewing Wheel
(Normal Spell)
Discard 1 card. Add 2 "Stitch" cards from your deck to your hand

Stitch Lance
(Quick Spell)
Target 1 XYZ monster you control and attach this card to it as an overlay unit. If this card is attached to a Stitch XYZ monster, it gains the following effect:
Once per turn, if this card were to be destroyed, deattach one overlay unit instead.

Trap Cards:

Re-Stitch
(Normal Trap)
Target 1 Stitch Spell from your graveyard and add it back to your hand.

XYZ Re-Stitch
(Quick Trap)
Target 1 Stitch XYZ monster in your graveyard and special summon it in attack mode. It cannot be destroyed this turn.

Monster Cards:

Stitch Golem
2 Level 4 monsters
2300 ATK/1000 DEF, Rank 4, DARK Zombie
If this card is sent to the graveyard, Target two Stitch spell cards that can be special summoned as monsters and special summon them to the field. Their effects are negated.

Stitch-Eyed Dragon
3 or more Level 4 monsters
2500 ATK/0 DEF, Rank 4, DARK Dragon
Once per turn, you can deattach 1 overlay unit to target 1 "Stitch" card in the graveyard. Attach that card to this monster as an overlay unit.

Wall of Stitched Flesh
3 Level 4 Monsters
1500 ATK/3000 DEF, Rank 4, DARK Zombie
Once per turn, if this card were to be destroyed, you can deattach one overlay unit instead.

Tell me what you think so far XD probably gonna made more to this, hope ya like though XP

i absolutely love this stuff so far,
the stitch rib cage whatchacallit has potential to be BROKE AS FUCK with its drawing power

soo ima just pick at the grammatical stuff...forgive me ;-;

also iron implant stitch's second effect should possibly read
"when this monster attacks a monster whose defense is less than this cards attack, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent"

also stitch heart should probably be changed to
"once per turn, this monster cannot be destroyed by battled" on the effect. the original wording is confusing as hell.

"overlay unit" should be changed to "xyz material"

"deattach" needs to be "detach"

"attack mode" need to be "attack position"

Rib Cage is the only really good one, to be honest. You can make the spells more broken, but you also need to make them far less generic. A free level 4 that results in a potential +2 or more is inherently busted. I would suggest not letting them turn into monsters, but instead letting them be used from the field as Xyz materials for "Stitch" monsters, as otherwise you run the risk of the good ones being techs in other Xyz decks, while the majority of the archetype is ignored. Overall, it's very creative. Could use a bit of clean-up, but the majority of it seems ready-to-go.

so wait, instead of the spells being special summoned as monsters, just have them as regular continous spells, and can be used for an XYZ summon later as an XYZ material?

Yeah, essentially. It's still a unique mechanic, but it avoids Maxx "C" and reduces the risk of future abuse.

q

but then how will they be used? you can't XYZ summon with spells, unless of course these cards could introduce that mechanic. sort of like how you could fuse with trap cards. but would you still be required to have a regular lvl 4 monster?

For example--

While this Spell card is face-up on the Field, you may use it as an Xyz Material for the Xyz Summon of a Rank 4 "Stitch" Xyz Monster. While this card is attached to an Xyz Monster as an Xyz Material, that Monster gains the following effect:

  • Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; This card gains 1000 ATK.
